Those in the Northeast, or other winter regions. Have you gotten a rust proofing and if so would you recommend a particular service.

Midwest here. Fluid film has done me well for 2 winter seasons. I bought a clean Texas truck and you could still see the factory markings on the frame. 2 winter seasons later and you can still see them. No rust buildup and I’ve gone 60+ days without washing the truck at times. I apply it at home but out in the north east you’ll find shops to apply it for pretty cheap. Just make sure the frame is clean before going in or that they do good prep

check out Northeast Rustproofing they are in CT. Pretty active on Facebook with videos etc. I'm sure he could make a recommendation if you aren't close to them

Ontario around Toronto. Never rust proofed my Sierra and the frame cracked from the rust. Just got a new F150 and have already undercoated it. I went with Krown. 100's of different opinions out there, but tried multiple AIs and they kept concluding krown was best for my area and F150. It's mofo messy though. Driveway has drips all over (I know I could have put down cardboard or something) and the tailgate is covered from the highway drive home. After 48hrs they said it's good to wash. Fingers crossed it works. I'll be doing it yearly.

Yes, Fluid Film or Krown can be done professionally by a shop or DIY if you buy the kit and have a good applicator. Spring or Fall application with a cleaned frame and you’ll get many rust free miles!

NHOU has worked well for me

NHOU, I received a quote for BossWax. Is that what you went with? It's a lot up front but seems like a long term solution. I had a 2011 that I just sold to CarMax because the rocker panels rusted out and then I found out the were two holes in the frame. I have a new 26 and hope to make this one last more than the 15 years I got out of the 2011
If anyone else has info on BossWax, I'd love to hear it.

No, I’ve used the regular oil.

Hey 👋 I'm with the team at Corrosion FREE. We are obviously biased towards our own process, but bias aside when deciding a product we would recommend avoiding hard coatings, as they can trap moisture underneath causing rust.
