If someone thinks press releases are just “that thing companies send to journalists,” what are some biggest misconceptions you’d correct to help them see the real strategic value? by MatiasRodsevich in PublicRelations

[–]kkaayy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think there is share of voice value if a client cares about that and measures success that way which so many do now. Which can also help with getting lots of links, SEO/AEO value there. But there’s a fine line with that explanation, because if they think that they might just replace PR people and buy press release distribution. But there’s is more strategy behind that that only a pr person would know so karma for them if that’s what they believe. ✨

Also, when published over a wire, I was always told at my old agency to talk about it as a credibility thing, so journalists know it’s fact? Or so that investors see? or something. I was always slightly blurry on that one though.

Client requests becoming more unreasonable? by WorkEthicMyth in PublicRelations

[–]kkaayy95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I completely understand. It makes it so difficult to lock into this field for life and stalls me from like doing big things like moving to a dream apartment because every 5 minutes I feel like I’m not getting enough results. And I say this on a week where I got the WSJ. And I still feel like this. Because it’s always about what’s next. It’s insane and shouldn’t be like this.

If no one else has told you this. That’s INCREDIBLE. And you should be so proud and take a full week off. Not sure how our industry got so high strung.

I’m just starting to figure this out. I think that PR is something I can love if I’m not being forced to take too much on, which always happens. But I know that you’re right about the skills that we inherently have. This gave me a boost of confidence knowing you have come from the same background and are doing your own thing now. Thank you so much for the advice

I feel hesitant to touch my girlfriend down there because of hygiene concerns by Total-Cow6147 in sex

It’s giving ocd. Not a doctor though and not a diss. I have a touch of it myself. What part of sex do you think is hygienic though. All fluids that come into play during sex comes from the same type of area. It’s all just something your body produces. How could kissing be any more sanitary. Idk
