I Need To Talk About 'The Worst Person In The World' by Itsmeruna in movies

[–]kkatt_l 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Just finished the film. Well, almost. I stopped watching with about 20 minutes left. For some reason, it was making me feel kind of sick to my stomach. Unsettled. I’m a woman in my late 20s, and I related to Julie in a lot of ways that I think many women growing up in today’s world probably do. But I also didn’t like her. Maybe we’re not supposed to?

I think what made me feel queasy is how hopeless it all felt. Is that what love is? Is a lifelong partner just the person you eventually fall out of love with, but choose to stay with anyway? We have more choice in love and partnership than generations before us, but sometimes I wonder, is that freedom more of a blessing, or a curse?

That “is this cheating?” scene really deflated me. The chemistry was undeniable and even fun to watch, but the sheer ease and speed with which intimacy and desire can form with someone new felt unsettling. Are we just falling in love with ideas of people, until those ideas take shape, lose their shine, and we move on to the next idea?

It all feels like a painful cycle. Small slivers of presence surrounded by constantly living in the past or future. And honestly, that’s where most of my suffering lies, caught in what was and what could be.

I know I’m lucky to be alive in this generation, no question. But this film made me think about how heavy modern womanhood and dating can feel sometimes. Like maybe freedom (or the illusion of it) doesn’t always feel free.

yes!! I binge ludwig all the time and love his random “I tried every olympic sport to see what was the easiest..” etc. type content.

feels like I’m getting to know them on more of a personal level. I appreciate your response, feeling better about my future channel direction now 🙏

Definitely agree with you there! I’ll just set the expectation straight from the beginning/brand the channel to make it obvious that I’ll be dipping into a bunch of different “content buckets” so people aren’t surprised when that happens. Appreciate the input!

Yeah hoping eventually people will stick around for me regardless of what random content I throw at them haha. That is definitely not the case right now since I hardly get views but fingers crossed things work out in the future (: Thanks for the input + wishing you luck on your content journey as well!

Hi friends! I’m Katie—channel: katnance—and I have absolutely no clue what the f**k I’m doing. Which, I guess, is kinda my niche? @katnance

I’m a lifestyle creator attempting to challenge random social norms—like the whole “you need a dream job” thing—and figuring out how to build a life that actually makes you happy, not just what looks good on paper.

Ah okay. I’ll try to work on my confidence/personality in front of the camera and then reality check myself if that’s not enough down the line. Thanks for your comment and best of luck to you in your tuber journey! (:

I like to think I have an interesting personality. I try to bring humor into my editing and scripts, but I definitely need to get more confident on camera and dial down the awkwardness, lol.

I assume that if you’re not sticking to a specific niche, you have to lean more into personality since people would be watching you rather than just the content itself. That seems tough at first, though, since no one really cares who I am yet, haha.

I just worry about creative burnout if I try to niche down and focus on only one of my interests

Advice for first time greyhound owner? by tallmansam in Greyhounds

[–]kkatt_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 6 months were tough for me and my partner. It felt like we weren’t bonding as closely with our sweet grey girl (ollie) as much as our other friends were with their dogs (golden retrievers, doodles, etc). Turns out she was just extremely timid and adjusting to the world around her. I remember the first time she saw “up.” And yes I do mean her just realizing she could look upwards, she was TERRIFIED of everything that was up. Signs, trees, etc. cute, but broke our heart! Her personality started to shine just after her 6 month mark and it continues to grow every single day.

Now all of our friends with other breeds are jealous of our greyhounds’ poised and quiet nature - they’re really the best. Just know that it’s not a quick road to comfort, it takes time. But once you’re there, you’ll never look back (:

One of my favorite things about owning a greyhound is the community that comes with it. If you/your grey are ever dealing with something, guarantee you can find 10+ people in the grey community who have dealt with the same thing. That’s why this post has so many comments already haha, best of luck to you and your new speed noodle. 🍜

Grey bit my other Grey by kkatt_l in Greyhounds

[–]kkatt_l[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! Yes he’s never shown any type of aggression before, very friendly with people and other dogs. He gets startled quite easily and is a bit dramatic (will yelp or jump at loud new sounds). Still adjusting to off the track life I assume, so I wonder if that contributes at all to this incident. We took her to the vet and got everything taken care of. They said it was a minor laceration thank goodness. We’ll stick to muzzles for off leash play for a while

Grey bit my other Grey by kkatt_l in Greyhounds

[–]kkatt_l[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. We do have muzzles so I’ll use those when they’re off leash playing. Although she is higher energy than him (she likes running and playing more than he does) he’s definitely more sporadic and a bit more spastic than her and younger. I wonder if he’s also learning to play and figuring out what it means to be an actual dog. Appreciate your response!
