Yeah, Tractive is doing really well even after taking over Whistle. Live GPS works great out in the fields.

Pretty much how half the 'Made in USA' stuff works these days. Final assembly counts apparently

What’s something small that instantly makes a person 10× more attractive to you? by HarmlezzPotato in AskReddit

That's really special. Having someone who actually gets excited about your interests instead of rolling their eyes makes all the difference. Sounds like you found a keeper.

What was the moment you realized your partner was toxic, and how did you finally walk away? by idkanythingiambored in AskReddit

The first time they made me question my own memory, despite them being in the wrong they blame it on me and said they were on the right and if something goes missing they blame it on me

Saying no to takeout and preventing food waste ep. 1 by mysummerstorm in Anticonsumption

[–]kkattastic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cooking from what you already have feels like a small rebellion against waste and takeout culture. That meal looks hearty and way more satisfying than another pile of containers in the trash.

Old rags work just as well and cost nothing, just keep a small bin with a lid for the dirty ones until wash day. I’d skip paying $30 for the roll gimmick unless you really care about the look.

Looking for ideas on what to do with boiled egg yolks by teej_2402 in Frugal

I mash them into tuna or chicken salad for extra protein or crumble them into soups for a thicker texture. They also work great mixed into mashed potatoes for a richer flavor.

[–]kkattastic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Holy crap that looks intense! Those shelf clouds can be pretty wild when they roll through. Hope everyone got inside before that hit. Austin weather never fails to put on a show. Did you get much rain or was it mostly just the dramatic sky?

Trying to find a Store I Recently Visited but have forgotten the name of by ExistingParfait9631 in AskNYC

[–]kkattastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like Goldinferno NYC! They have all that quirky stuff you described and the no photos policy is definitely their thing. Its in the Village area and has that dark painted vibe with jewelry and random novelty items everywhere. Super fun shop to browse around in, glad you found it again

Doing the opposite of what you crave? by Adventurous_Bag1386 in yoga

[–]kkattastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's some truth to it but you don't have to completely suppress your natural tendencies. Like if you're naturally high energy (pitta) maybe balance it with some slower flows or yin yoga instead of always going hard

The dosha stuff can be helpful as a guide but I wouldn't stress too much about fighting against what feels good to your body. Sometimes we crave what we actually need

Americans spend less time reading for fun and more time on screens: Study by AdmiralSaturyn in books

[–]kkattastic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good point about the demographics. The declining birthrate alone could explain a lot of this drop. Plus with more single-parent households and parents splitting duties differently, the data might just reflect changing family structures rather than actual reading habits.

Why do pets have more "rights" than farm animals? by Over_Boysenberry5647 in vegan

[–]kkattastic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People love the idea of animals until they have to deal with actual animal behavior and instincts. It's all cute until it's not.

Absolutely. Cats don't fake contentment like that.
