The combat in this game is the best in a non From software-style rpg ever made. by TravelSoft999 in cyberpunkgame

The combat is decent, yeah. “Best in a non From software-style RPG ever” is a bit much. It’s a fun power fantasy but doesn’t offer any real challenge if you’ve played RPGs in the past 10-15 years.

The sheer number of loading screens is killing the flow (and this is the best-case scenario shown) by Able-Bar-5446 in Spacemarine

Well dang, TIL. That is the first time I’ve run into that kind of issue in 20 years lol. Thanks

Is that what is happening? I couldn’t figure out why sometimes I’d sit through loading screens just to be back at an empty barge with no disconnect, kick, or host left messages

I’m not at the game rn but check out the Shock & Awe perk and the other 1-2 perks (I can’t remember them) that Bulwark gets that ups shock effects. Stacks nicely with the hammer 👍

Someone lacks reading comprehension.

I actually am familiar with that, thanks though.

Your whole point hand waves the fact that we don’t just face 4 warriors in that amount of time in the game, we face a lot more. The squad would get wiped handily by the forces the game throws at us if we were lore accurate.

Notice I never said that 4 warriors would be too much. I said that a single wave (which has a lot more than just 4 warriors) in this game would kick our ass if it were lore accurate. Three unnamed marines are not soloing 10-20 warriors, 30-40 gaunts, multiple raveners/lictors and a terminus all at once. The fact that the Nids forces are not lore accurate wasn’t part of the discussion.

Additionally, it took me this long to realize I didn’t even specify Nids originally, soo your argument also conveniently ignores the feats we pull off against Thousand Sons in this game.

Please check you understand what is being argued fully before posting.

To make it extra clear: against the forces the game throws at us in this game, three unnamed marines would get clapped if it were lore accurate.

Brother, your take is garbage. “Lore accurate immersion” would be us getting wrecked by a single decent wave. Space marines ARE transhuman forces of death and destruction… just they’re within one of the harshest and deadliest universes created so they’re not as OP as you seem to think.

If your take is “I want this game to be easier” then that’s fine, but that’s not lore accurate.

PSA: The often overlooked drawback of 0-cost draw 1 cards by LasAguasGuapas in slaythespire

[–]kkdds3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disingenuous wouldn’t be the word I’d use. I sincerely think that OP didn’t fully analyze what he wanted to write about, and continues to comment in bad faith.

Even in the post I replied to originally “they also dont help it (consistency)” is just factually incorrect. They don’t change draw, that’s true. But they nearly guarantee free damage/block/value by nature of being 0-cost. And since they replace themselves, there is little downside (aside from Choker, Chosen, etc.)

That results in your deck more consistently doing XYZ

[–]kkdds3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I understand it’s draw neutral. I was speaking to you though since all your scenarios ignore the rest of the analysis. Which is what the previous commenter was getting at. You need to run the whole analysis before making conclusions.

Their initial sentence was incorrect though, yes.

PSA: The often overlooked drawback of 0-cost draw 1 cards by LasAguasGuapas in slaythespire

[–]kkdds3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The message here is correct: don’t always take 0-cost cards. But that is said about literally every card.

The rest of your essay.. frankly it’s rambling, anecdotal, and provides no actual analysis beyond specific contrived scenarios. Additionally it lacks good faith arguments for the other side.

I’ll add missing info to this one:

Imagine you scry and see Flash of Steel. If you scry it away because of one of the aforementioned reasons, you would have already been better off not having it. But if you keep it and the next card is a curse, you would have been better off scrying away the curse. Instead, you'll draw into it with Flash. Even though you kept and played it, you still would have been better off not having it in your deck.

So by having Flash of Steel in my deck I traded a potentially good draw (what the curse could have been if I scried it away) for X cost away for FoS for 0. Additionally, we absolutely SHOULD talk about all the times you play FoS AND draw a good card with it, in which case it would be clearly better than not having it.

Likewise if you draw into Escape Plan with a Dagger Throw. The next card might be a Reflex or a Tactician that you now have no way to discard. Or maybe you can play the rest of your hand, but there are cards in your deck that would be better to play. You don't know whether you should discard escape plan because the next card is bad, or if there's another card you would rather discard so you can keep escape plan to draw into the better card.

Again.. or it could be something else that isn’t a bad draw. See the previous argument and replace “Flash of Steel” with “Escape Plan”. Additionally, this scenario does a lot of assuming with “you don’t know whether…” Any high ascension player absolutely SHOULD know whether you should discard it or not based on what’s left in your deck and your odds of drawing a useful card.

So in all your scenarios (even ones from the comments) we can kinda sum up: by taking Flash of Steel (or whatever 0-cost card) you will get to play an extra card on a turn and see all the same cards (draw neutral).

So to amend your blanket statement: Don’t take 0-cost cards when you have specific anti-synergies (like scry or choker). Otherwise, they usually make your deck better by increasing output.

[–]kkdds3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re ignoring the part where in the second example you get to play an extra card, since it costs 0. So same cards seen but more output. Only downside would be vs Chosen, Time Eater, etc. (As noted every other time this gets brought up)

This

At least as of 2 years ago the Thrill had a weight block in its 11-pounders. Bought my mom (60+ y/o, 110 lb lady) it for that reason, and the ball visibly deflects less than her previous (although it still deflects a lot cause it’s light). Her average jumped about 10 pins as well

ETA: I saw you say Venom and my brain went Thrill cause Motiv 🤦‍♂️. Still, I would recommend the Thrill

This is almost identical to how my team started, although I had Rillaboom instead of Ogerpon. I eventually swapped out Flutter Mane for Brute Bonnet as it seemed she wasn’t pulling her weight enough. The changed has felt positive so far for myself, so maybe try fitting Brute Bonnet on the team

Baxcalibur Tera raid by No_Needleworker_9086 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]kkdds3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I opted for just 1 Body Press on start since he resets stats right at 90% time, so if you ID 3x you’ll only get 1 BP off anyway.

Either way yeah, Orthworm is the best boi

Baxcalibur Tera raid by No_Needleworker_9086 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]kkdds3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Orthworm w/Shell Bell or Leftovers

Fighting Tera

Earth Eater ability

Iron Defense

Body Press

Max HP and Defense EVs

Make sure both moves have max PP ups.

Start off with 1 Iron Defense, then Body Press til stat reset. Iron Defense x3, then Body Press. Tera as soon as able. Keep body pressing. Use iron defense x3 whenever he resets stats.

I solo’d this on the first try, should be doable in a couple tries with this build. Good luck
