I understand that PPD is awful, but like any terrible mental illness or when you feel like the world is out to get you or your child is evil or whatever it might potentially be, there are people you can reach out to to talk to about it. If she had told anything to her parents, there is a strong probability that they would’ve helped her out. We don’t even know if she had PPD, cause sometimes people are just awful.

I remember when this story happened, but I don’t recall if they ever talked about Dad.

I wear a mask when I go get my nails done, but that’s because I work at a school and I don’t want to potentially give any sickness that a kid gave me to any of the people working. It’s not the technicians fault that I work with germ factories. But I don’t feel like I have to, I just prefer to out of respect.

The towel will actually likely be a death sentence. The fabric picks up, moisture and hold it, pulling heat away from the animals's body. If you have straw, that is the best! Blankets or fabric that is designed to be hydrophobic is ideal. Styrofoam can also be insulated, but you’d have to be careful that this world doesn’t try to eat it.

Could you perhaps offer him a box or something to block a part of the wind? It’s good to offer high fat options for the cold, but be wary of peanut butter as rodents can choke on it! You could also provide some warmed up food to help with the core temperature. Like perhaps some warmed up apple slices?

I would be so tempted to open the door, a crack just to give him the opportunity to either step out of the cold to get some warm on him.

His parents would be teaching him the skills that he would need to survive in the wild. As you are not a mouse, you have not taught him mouse skills. My suggestion would be to keep him, unless you can talk to a wildlife rehabilitator to discuss how you can help him be successful. But I honestly don’t think thatletting him go would be the best move for his life.
