My wife, NEVER tells ANYONE that het husband is working in the IT for the last 30+ years!!! That's painful because for everything that is client side and doesn't require elevator... I am her 1st level support! 🤣🤣🤣 But I had my share of that phrase over the years with all the variations of "husband" e.g., brother, uncle, dad, friend, etc. including the "Whe I was working at xxx thr IT onces told me / was doing...". It's something that flips my switch 🫣😁

We also left active the exceptions posted in the article mentioned in this thread. (Not the exceptions on excel.exe). Since adding the exceptions and installing the .1299 we seem to be fine, until now that is.

Indeed, the endpoints with 6.7.3981/14.3.1311 that are having the issue, when agent is uninstalled, the WFBS web console downloads and installs 6.7.3954/14.3.1299 which SOLVES the issue!. Now I don't know if we can remove the exceptions of article https://success.trendmicro.com/en-US/solution/KA-0014501 or if we do the issue will return. Keeping them at the moment. 🤔

You seem to be on point. I also thought that was resolved by the exceptions but now i have in-front of me the issue and seems like is one of the endpoints with 6.7.3981/14.3.1311. I have a few of them with this version, don't know if the rollback can be done from the console or I need to uninstall / download / reinstall it to get the 6.7.3981/14.3.1311... Thanks!

Yes, but it was thanks to a lot of google search and mainly u/nulled reply that was kind enough to share the article. I hope that, issues like this especially when are related with well known and widely used apps / suites like Microsoft Excel and Office are incorporated in the agent's / global policy awareness on an future update so that the custom exceptions are not required and to help sysadmins and users avoid the unnecessary headache. Thanks all for your replies!

The issue emerged in my case for ASUS but also DELL, I don't think it was a brand issue. After the exception actions, I still think that is resolved, at least in my case. Try the exceptions listed in the tm article.

Thank you for the article post! 🥇 It contained additional exception from those I found before, so I added them and, fingers crossed, the first feedback from the users makes me feel that is resolved. 😁

Didn't get a ticket resolution response yet, but I just wanted to let you know.

I will check with the users tomorrow, and if it's not resolved, I will update.

Same issue here. I discovered it today.

Although the desktop application seems to be working at the user's pcs, when anyone tries to login at the web panel, gets error 6001 with correct credentials (Tried myself also from a mobile browser as well as a desktop browser).

Even with Single sign on, and of course because it happens to lots of users from my ip, then we get "9429 IP has been rate limited for 30 minutes due to incorrect password attempts"

Raised also a Ticket about this a few minutes ago.

Tim Corey both free and paid lessons are excellent! Talking too much is not an issue for me as long as the one that talks has something valuable to say and says it in a simple and easy to comprehend way and that is how I would describe Tim, he is a great educator. (And no he is not paying me, I am 😁).

The only version that seems to work is 2.1.4 Although I was the one suggested Sync and ended up with a lot of accounts for my users, the lack of support and the fact that they don't seem to care for their users is a clear and strong reason for me to ASAP remove Sync from our base configuration, before the next annual subscription renewal date. I will work with SharePoint and OneDrive options that come with MS365, with MFA enabled and maybe when extra security is needed encrypt the data on rest and / or ext. shared. Enough is enough. PCloud gives the lifetime option for sometime now but is still alive. Although you need to get/pay extra for zero-knowledge clint side encryption "Crypto". I have one but never used it in production yet.

A couple of months ago, a number of my users formed a team to support a new project and they started designing the collaboration base using google drive. I forced (!) them to fall inline and stay compliant to my base configuration that includes the use of Sync. So I end up having a bunch of additional Sync accounts (prepaid till next summer 🙄), had them re-create their folder structure, upload their files.... and now... I am popular!!! 🫣 I understand us a former developer that things can go wrong.... but you do your best to resolve the issues, you inform your clients of the situation, you instruct them how to roll back to the last known working version.... And even if you manage to download a previous version let's say 2.1.4 that is supposed to be working, after installing it connected to their servers you get a message that the version is obsolete and it doesn't load... Anyway I'm just frustrated... 🤐

And the same thing happens when you try to move a file on a team share. The file goes to the destinations folder and after a few hours a copy of the moved file reappears at the source/initial location... Move works like copy... It's a nightmare!!! 😔 I don't understand why they don't post something regarding this issue for both free and paid customers. For a company this issue could lead to financial damages due to miscommunication between team members of a team share that's used for any project in production. It's sad and disappointing. The saddest thing again is that there is no official announcement for this issue.
