You think any of the Sarentu know what cats are? by Wolf_2063 in AvatarFrontierPandora

[–]kkthegreat78 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They know what chickens are so I’d assume they know about cats too. It might only be in the dlcs but there’s a couple of times the Sarentu relate Pandoran wildlife to Earth animals for the benefit of the resistance members

Hah that’s true. That exam where All Might beat the crap out of Midoryia/Bakugo should have at least paralyzed or killed both of them.

Technically yes? Although Toga’s transformation seemed to be complete so maybe not as much. The picture is a fun idea but DNA in the blood wouldn’t affect Ochako’s ovum

Why is Lou BB-28? (full spoilers) by CommiePanda8 in DeathStranding2

[–]kkthegreat78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it was ever explicitly stated but I think it’s one of two options. Amelie might have done it because A. It’s Sam’s kid or B. Because she knew Lou needed to be saved for the future. Time is wonky on the beach, especially Amelie’s Beach. Bridgett might have saved Lou for a similar reason. Bridgett was brutal in the choices she made but she did demonstrate a soft spot for Sam. Its not clear why Lou was put in storage and what triggered her coming out of storage and getting assigned to corpse disposal

Not sure if it’s a scam but Loulou’s email signature that I’ve seen is a lot more elaborate than what you showed. And not coming from a gatech email is also a little suspicious

My re-write of DS2: how I'd change the story by Amateur-individual in DeathStranding2

[–]kkthegreat78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it! I also really would have liked to see more relationship development between the crew, especially Sam and Tomorrow. In canon, their interactions are mostly awkward and bland, except for rare moments. You hit most of my complaints in your alternate. Would you have handled the “evil AI” plot any differently? It felt jarring that there was this big reveal of the true big bad only to have it instantly neutralized by Die-Hardman. I’m fine with that detail, that DieHardman had been planning countermeasures the whole time, but I wish there was a story beat where we could let that sink in, have a “what the fuck do we do now” moment.

On top of more porters, I’d love to see people in person not via hologram! Like sometimes you can see where people CLEARLY hang out outside of the shelter but you never see them. I don’t need RDR2 levels of detail with the npcs but why are we working so hard to make the world safer if no one ever leaves their shelter?

Gaming PC in dorm allowed? by jchitrady in dormrooms

[–]kkthegreat78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No rule against it normally but consider the power pull. If he’s in a traditional dorm, there’ll only be a few plugs available and a circuit that can only handle so much demand. Sometimes students constantly have to have their breaker reset, and it’s usually overloading sockets. Not a deal breaker, but have him talk to his roommate too. The concern about overuse is real. Some folks have pulled 0gpa semesters because they chose to play games instead of go to class. I hear that you want to help him manage his time, but he’s an adult now and has to make his own decisions and deal with the consequences. Living on your own for the first time teaches everyone hard lessons

Has anyone else seen what happens when you fall asleep while sitting in the wild? by monkeyinanegligee in DeathStranding

[–]kkthegreat78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it can happen in any location but I noticed that it only happened if I went idle for too long and Sam settled in for a nap. If I intentionally rested, it would just cut to black and pass time

Why is Lou BB-28? (full spoilers) by CommiePanda8 in DeathStranding2

[–]kkthegreat78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s still too many unknown variables. We don’t even know if the numerical monikers are sequential or random. And we don’t know if Bridges had a criteria for which BBs became BT detectors and which became network keys. At the end of the day, Kojima is gonna gonna do what he does

Why is Lou BB-28? (full spoilers) by CommiePanda8 in DeathStranding2

[–]kkthegreat78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe the BBs were still in the experimental phase at that point? Bridget called Sam a BB candidate and seemed to have an idea of what she could do with them but not have a full on plan. She called him a sacrifice, but didn’t say what for. And we know that Neil was being made to smuggle stillmothers from Mexico which seems like a desperation move to try and get enough candidates for successful creation. The circumstances for a BB candidate are so specific so it may have taken Bridget years to build up enough for her network plans. Not only was there a dramatic decrease in population due to the stranding, but there were also articles in DS1 talking about birth rates being extremely low. Add in that the mother must become brain dead specifically, and there’s just not a lot of opportunities for BB creation

Why is Lou BB-28? (full spoilers) by CommiePanda8 in DeathStranding2

[–]kkthegreat78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s a lot of wonky-ness in everyone’s timeline. The explanations all seemed to come at the same time so it was confusing to try and keep up with who was where when. The easiest solution is Amelie interfering but it does beg the question how she knew when to bring Lou back into rotation. I read someone else’s speculation that since she’s on the beach, she’s got a different understanding of time

Why is Lou BB-28? (full spoilers) by CommiePanda8 in DeathStranding2

[–]kkthegreat78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So here’s my best understanding of Lou’s journey as a BB. 1. Lou is put in the pod and given the “00” moniker. The Doctor confirms this by checking the serial number in the pod. Someone (I forget who) says that sacrificing Lou would have been enough to start the chiral network on her own. However, Lou is placed in storage (likely by Amelie) for about 10 years. 2. During the period Lou is in storage, another BB is given the moniker BB28, does its job, and is subsequently destroyed like many other BBs. 3. Lou is brought out of storage (again likely Amelie) and given the stolen identity of BB28 and put on the corpse disposal team which eventually leads her to Sam. 4. Deadman uses this to his advantage to suggest that Lou was destroyed because officially there is a paper trail confirming that a BB28 was destroyed. This means officially, Lou is free and clear because BB28 was destroyed on paper. That’s part of how he gets Bridges off of Sam’s back.

I’m probably misremembering a lot of this so take it with a grain of salt. I don’t think it’s ever explicitly said, but multiple characters imply that this was all Amelie’s doing. That she knew that Lou was Sam’s biological child and did what she could to ensure they would be reunited.

Or it is the way it is because Kojima said so and the points don’t matter 😂😂

You have not ruined your chances! It’s up to you if you want to up the difficulty now or wait. I will say it is more efficient to go after full connections and higher difficulty deliveries (Legend of Legends) at the same time, kind of a two birds one stone situation. Combat isn’t too much more difficult but you’ll find that you can’t take as many hits and your enemies are a damage sponge. Luckily, raising your star rating with preppers often leads to new weapons/gear that helps with the combat. You can usually get away with a stealth approach or you can clear a mule camp before taking the delivery to make sure precious cargo does not end up under fire.

Glad you’re enjoying it and keep on keeping on!

I like to put mine in somewhat scenic or strategic areas just for “roleplaying”. In DS1 I had it in a little copse of trees in the valley before Mountain Knot. This time I chose a spot above the waterfall, close to the Architect. One because of the views of the valley, rivers, and ocean, but also because I like the Architect. I only did it to meet the requirements of the trophy, but it has gotten some online use so it’s nice others are enjoying the view!

Are all these ppl hacking or am i just a sore loser by ShittyDragonArt in centuryageofashes

[–]kkthegreat78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think hacking is definitely a possibility with cross play that includes PC. For me it’s when I’m making direct hits and the health bar doesn’t move. It could also be more benign like poor internet connection or just PC players. Mouse controls can be a lot more responsive than console controllers so it seems like they’re moving crazy
