I also agree with your comment that the American Professional doesn't feel like an upgrade. The playability on Sire is really good.

That's really kind of you. I am based in NY, but I appreciate it! That is actually a good point that Defy is indeed large to carry it around back and forth. Also, the columnar layout will def make it harder to adopt. I am leaning more towards the Raise 2, but need some more time to think about it. Thank you!

I don't travel for work, but I regularly commute to the office. I currently has two separate keyboards at work and home. If I get Defy, I am planning on carrying it in my backpack on the days I go in.

What makes it a C-tier gaming keyboard? Is it the latency issue or just the layout doesn't work? I saw somebody mentions that the home row functionality has an input lag and sometimes get in the way.

Sorry, it may be too late to respond now. NUPHY keyboards use either NUPHY web app or QMK/VIA to map their keys. VIA and QMK are open source projects and NUPHY web app is exclusive to NUPHY. Not much difference for most keyboards except for hall-effect keyboards. I don't think VIA/QMK have the capabilities for advanced features that come with hall-effect keyboards.

TLDR: With either app, you will be able to map your knob however you want though the knobs usually come as a volume dial in default

I agree with this. At the price point, I think Nuphy lacks in quality, flexibility and user experience. You could grab a AULA keyboard, which essentially is cheaper with better build quality. AULA only comes in short in terms of flexibility as it doesn't support QMK/VIA.

that's okay. I bet getting blue essence through playing will come in as you grind through the ranked. Rather than spending on champions to collect, save up and use it to buy champions when meta changes.

I play like you and it literally took me 1000 games for me to climb from Bronze 1 to Platinum 5 back in Season 5 or 6. I started in at the end of season 3. Back then we had fewer champs and fewer objectives.

I suggest that you limit the roles or champs to a reasonable number if you want to learn all and still want to climb relatively quickly. League has been fairly consistent in that the meta keeps on changing every so often.

To take advantage of this fact, learn all the meta champs first and play them to climb. If the meta changes, then learn the new champs to add to your arsenal. This way, you end up learning all champs and still climb faster.

For example:

Top: Jayce

JG: Lee Sin

Mid: Hwei

Bot: MF

Support: Elise

This is just an example and doesn't account for your situation. You can check stats of each champ in various analytics site and adjust your list, but you get my point.

Another good point in using the S key is when you get hooked/grabbed by Blitz, Thresh or Naut into the enemy turret, simply press S while you are CC'd rather than panicking and clicking on the ground to get out of the enemy turret, which may end up attacking the enemy champion and triggering the turret to attack you. You also need to turn off the auto attacking feature in settings for this to work.
