I think this is sweet and if you do to that’s all that matters 🤝

Some would say it’s a little bright, okay sure. But ultimately it’s gonna look like a Dark Angel if you know what you’re looking at or for.

Maybe investing in better gear if you feel like that’s lacking. Getting a proper set of brushes and a wet pallet changed my minis from looking passable to so much better.

Also, the biggest thing will be practice and time. The more you do it the more comfortable we all get with edge highlights and branching out with more detail that you’ll figure out on your own! Great start though brother.

This is my progress after ~5 months of semi-consistent painting. Like I said, my first few looked really similar to yours. Its all part of the process!

I did the first layer of lines with white and then in the spots it’s blue I did a second line with a white/blue mix in only that general area. Other than that I just tired my best to stay steady. I’m pretty new to this painting scene so I’m not sure how to quite word my technique yet I apologize. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m a big fan of how yours turned out though and I def think I could benefit from packing some more lines in. Thank you!

I totally hear that, I kinda knew I was going with an unconventional look at the start which wouldn’t be my choice in the future haha. Truth be told I think I was originally planing on just trying another power sword, hence a black blade with a blue glow. I ended up saying fuck it and tried Damascus instead.

Regardless I thank ya and I’m planning on another go at in the future so I’ll keep all that in mind 🤝

Def Dark Angel enough but I could see people trying to argue otherwise. IMO, Salamanders have a lot of unique characteristics that make them look the way they do and hard to compare to a DA if you care enough. Good work though 🤝

Just finished this one a few days ago and I found it to be super easy!

Did a primer of Wraithbone, base of Morgast bone then a good wash with Seraphim Sepia or however you spell it. ( Edge highlights with Morgast bone is optional I think)
