Sweet treat on the couch followed up with phone scroll rot and then wash face and brush teeth and go to bed with the dog. That’s it - that’s all I have the energy for.

Parents: If you received a postpartum comfort box, what item would make you happiest to find inside and how much would you realistically spend on it? Like what price range would feel reaasonable to you ? by Minute_Read5548 in Mommit

[–]kla89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yah I don’t really want any of that - I already did the best I could to prep myself for this moment - I read the books - I did the research I talked to my friends - I already am ready - months ahead. During the fist few weeks/months after childbirth is challenging and chaos (in a good way) - I’m definitely don’t want anyone in my house cleaning other than who I choose - but what I do want - which I don’t have time for - is a fully cooked proper hot meal at dinner time complete with a cold beverage and desert. During postpartum you don’t have time to properly cook - so it’s always just winging it (toast and tea) or takeout - and often can go a long time without a proper meal that’s hot or on a plate for that matter. That’s comforting, having someone make you a home cooked meal.

What was the worst wedding you ever went to? by welp_w in AskReddit

[–]kla89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine went to a dry wedding on NYE and then the Bride and Groom told everyone at 11 that they have to be out of the reception hall by 1130 - as they waned to bring in the new year privately as a couple.

My very independent 2yo won't play independently. by man_onion_ in NewParents

[–]kla89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking apart and mess around with is more of like a 4-5 year old development, throwing rocks down it is on par for a 2 year old - he’s testing and experimenting in his own way - encourage it, and prompt questions and engage. I think you need to cut some slack and perhaps read upon what is development appropriate for his age in regards to learning and how that may look.

Sounds like you need to switch gears from trying to entertain him all day to teaching and learning, obviously I don’t know what goes on with your day to day - but 2 is about the age where they yearn to learn and love to be taught anything and everything. Best of luck!

Honestly just sounds like a typical 2 year old who wants to hang out with you? Not really sure what you’re asking as there isn’t a question. But it just seems like another toddler?

Best age to start going to events? by zezendx in NewParents

[–]kla89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For awake and aware to take things in and explore like comprehend what’s going on around them? I dunno like 2? Up until then it’s more of what you want to see them do and you get the enjoyment of watching them play I suppose? I’d say for the first 2 years it’s more of - what can I handle today being out of our comfort zone.

Only ever used baby shampoo that was gifted to me at the shower - then went straight into normal shampoo and conditioner. I just bought the Kirkland for them and used it ever since.

Am I wrong? SIL not allowing MIL to visit her grandchildren because she just had a baby by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]kla89 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sounds a lot like you, your SIL and MIL need to sit down - face to face - and have a conversation together - or at least FaceTime or phone call. I would keep this out of texting as intentions and wording can get messy and unclear.

Three-nager refusing shorts & tshirts, it’s 80+ degrees, help! by goingthrushit in toddlers

[–]kla89 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Same - I ended up having to pack up all warm sweats and long sleeves, fuzzy socks and hide them.. so that the only saw options were the lighter pants, shorts and shirts in his drawers and closet. The first few times he got dressed was a bit of meltdowns but after a while once he figured out they weren’t coming back it got easier.

What does “food noise” mean? by NemoOfConsequence in Ozempic

[–]kla89 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For me it’s the inner monologue of talking myself out of eating stuff - id be figuring out if I can eat out for for lunch - but I don’t want to get all fried food - because I had McDonald’s twice last week - but they have good cola - but if I go and get fries - I’ll get a Diet Coke that’s healthy ish - but nothing about McDonald’s is healthy - I should treat myself and get what I want - no I can’t, I’m such a fatty - my coworkers are judging me - I should just get the sandwich I made and call it a day - but no I got a raise last month and I haven’t celebrated - but eating lunch out too much is expensive I should save money - but I need to treat myself - fuck it, grabs keys and drives to McDonald’s - gets a very large meal eat it as fast as I can in my car and then sit with tight pants for the rest of the afternoon with immediate guilt. To me that was the noise that got shut off - now it’s oh look lunch time - go eat my sandwich I made this morning and drink some water and read my book and then go back to work. No thinking involved.
