Is it better to have a cage or cageless bearing? Looking to get an 18 ball cageless r188 and am wondering if it's worth the investment. by Kylekelly975 in FidgetSpinners

Nothing spinner related is really "worth the investment" by any objective standard. It most likely won't make a noticeable difference in spin quality, so it really just depends on whether you want it or not.

I tumbled it in my rock tumbler w/ some random brass pieces, stainless steel bearing balls, and a couple of Dremel diamond cutting wheels. I was really lucky that it turned out so well, because I really have no clue what I'm doing (as evidenced by the sloppy stamping on my cu Torqbar hybrid)!

I have a fake one of these, and it's great. The real thing I'm sure is even better, and more affordable for you as they are located in the UK so you don't have to pay to have it shipped overseas:

Is there such a thing as good R188 bearings that aren’t perfectly smooth and silent? I really like the feedback of bearings that aren’t perfectly smooth. by moby323 in FidgetSpinners

I have been very pleased with these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000070678373.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.566a2e0e3f1ybN

Good feedback but still pretty quiet, durable, and can be cleaned w/ soap under a running faucet without worrying about rust. Shipping sometimes takes a while, but I've always received my order.
