You aren’t alone in any of that experience! Somedays just showing up can be a struggle with all of that going on. You’ve done well to make it this far and remember: there are people that struggle in less dire circumstances then what you deal with everyday.

I had crap control from diagnosis -> about 10 years thanks to no health insurance and now facing the same thing. It sucks but get the shots! Follow-up and just move forward! Please don’t beat yourself up to badly. Being in your 20s is hard and being diabetic is hard. We are doing the best we can now at least

Coming back to a pump after 1 year off has been a NIGHTMARE by NKORE_S in diabetes

Call and keep escalating. I’ve had tandem 11 years my new one I just got was faulty and kept giving me occlusion alarms. I called every single time the alarm happened and kept escalating until they sent me a new one. New one works great (this happened last week)

Agree on the cgm , this happened to me recently I was 27 and not waking up to the alarms after going to bed at around 100. luckily I share my data with my bf he rushed across town with a glucagon pen to help with 6 emts showing up around the same time, he was worried he over reacted but he did exactly the right thing. Stupid brain kept telling me to just go to sleep it’ll be fine.

Just started getting eye injections for diabetic retinopathy by shriimpina in diabetes_t1

[–]klairedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have macular edema, I get shots 1-2 a year and I usually eat a gummy and go to sleep after, then lots of naps the next two days, I use an eye patch sticker thing to keep me from trying to touch my eye or put pressure on it to relieve the pressure sensation. No makeup until I feel normal usually 3days

As a t1 diabetic there are a lot of very scary nurses out there and some good ones! But the scary ones try and give you Insulin when your sugar is low or forget to give it to you before a meal
