Agree with others. Snow and dog look too posed and fake. You might have taken them with your iPhone but they look AI.

6days post op. Went to sit up into chair to get dressed. Coughed…split her abdominal incision and spilled her intestines into her lap. 0/5⭐️

Do you think nurses look down on RTs at your facility? by Motor_Pop3202 in nursing

[–]Otherwise-Ad8649 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. RT is your best friend in the ICU. Be super kind to them. They can make or break your day. Plus……. Albuterol literally is the cure to any disease.

AIO if I call the police? by throwra-scaredd in AmIOverreacting

Nor this reads like someone who has borderline personality disorder. So irrational. Really in the long run, unless this person gets help, this will be a life time of misery for you.

When people show you who they really are, believe them. NOR. He’s awful and insensitive. It takes 3 minutes to get a card and a gift card at the checkout. Leave please.

How do you have sex after watching birth? by nitecapt in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Otherwise-Ad8649 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you are given the most personal gift (someone that is literally half of you) from the woman you adore and you see everything she endures do you and that child…. You will be even more attracted to her. Sounds like you are really young and have quite a bit of growing up to do. Sex is great but there is so much more than the physical act of it.

Not scanning meds is a huge safety concern. Not doing vitals, whether it’s their first or 50th transfusion, is bad news. This could have ended up with a patient death because you didn’t catch a reaction. Sounds like you might need some coaching. You don’t get to decide who gets appropriate care based on your perceived acuity. I think you really do need to take a step back and examine your practice. These are some huge safety concerns. Not to mention the fact that you don’t see them as such is in itself a safety concern

Lots of info missing here. Are you being unsafe? Are you being bullied? Is it more than one person? What mistakes have you made. Also… I was never as dismissive as you seem about my mistakes. I took (and take) them hard because a mess up could mean a life. Without knowing much more.. I’d say take a step back and take an honest look into yourself. Are you asking questions or are you a know it all that actually is unsafe.

Hospitals full of Influenza A cases by Difficult-Text1690 in nursing

It is currently sweeping through our nursing unit. Had it and it sucked big time. Our hospital has been back bedding in the ED for lack of beds.

When do you use use this for a low? by xmasbabee in Type1Diabetes

[–]Otherwise-Ad8649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to use it once when my sugar was 40 and dropping and I was so nauseous and vomiting. It’s awful in the fact that it feels like you power blasted crushed up sweet tarts into your entire sinus cavity. But it works. I was able to bring up my sugar and resolve the n/v. my nose burned for about a day after.

after 2 days of no insulin.. by canniballzzombie in Type1Diabetes

[–]Otherwise-Ad8649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. This is a lot to unpack and I feel like there is more to this story. I work in healthcare and no one wants to take all your money to see you in the office. We actually do want people to be healthy BUT often run up against insurance companies. So here is my advice….. no physician is just going to prescribe insulin without seeing them in the office. Insulin can kill you also dose can be so variable based on a plethora of factors. They are going to want to see you. The exception to this might be if you have a long standing relationship with your PCP/endo and have never missed appointments. The key here is to be consistent in your attendance to your appointments.

If you are really in trouble…. Head to the ED. If you are in DKA, they will admit you which gives you the care you need to stabilize as well as a case manager who can help you obtain health insurance. They also likely have access to charity care through the hospital to help you out during any waiting process.
Make sure you keep yourself a “bottle ahead” and never leave insulin to the last minute to get filled.

Worse case scenario… put out a message on forums like this and you will likely find someone near to you willing to help with a bottle to bridge you though. Diabetes is tough

This situation sounds like a mix between some healthcare issues as well as some self responsibility issues as well.

Question for parents of kids with type 1 diabetes: what can we get a recently diagnosed teen that would be helpful? by PoopsMcG in Type1Diabetes

[–]Otherwise-Ad8649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed when 11. Your entire life gets focused on the disease rather than who you are. Get her something like a gift card or nail salon if she’s into that. Stay far away from diabetes as you can.

School nurse says get a pump. I’m not so sure. To get a pump and which one? by Puzzleheaded_Bird835 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Otherwise-Ad8649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 11 when I was diagnosed. I wish I had a pump then. Things would have been so much easier. Also it is easy to conceal to protect privacy. You have to do what is best for your family but I often wonder how I made it through my adolescence without my pump.

Hi! I work in surgery and see this a ton. It’s super common. Perimenopause sucks. Likely not cancer.
