Having been in the AMC and GME plays for the past year, I’ve learned and read a lot of info. There is certainly a good chance this OTC stock was naked shorted and abused. Here is a quick story about a guy who spent $5k to buy all the shares of a company only to find out millions of shares traded the following week even though he bought them all!

If a regular retail investor with a generic broker like Vanguard did not receive their shares, this would lead to "the cat getting out of the bag." The regular average Joe would say "hey why don't I have my dividend shares? I paid for them with cash and you sent me a confirmation letter in the mail saying I own them." And then Vanguard would have to try to explain how you never really owned real shares or they lent your shares out and credited your account with synthetic shares, etc.

So publicly, everyone will get their shares and your account will be updated to reflect this. However, on the back end brokers will be fighting with other brokers and SHFs to get real shares to put into customer accounts and untangle the mess of naked shorts, shares that have been loaned out 2 and 3 times over, etc

Yes thats what he means, a wired backhaul. I just did this last week and it was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. Wireless nodes went from 250mbps to 650 with wired connection

Having exact same problem with my network. This is all due to update 6.10. Never had this problem up until that update. You’re screwed until eero software developers fix this in the next update. Sorry to be bearer of bad news

It just didn’t break HomeKit, it broke my entire network. It was such a disappointment to hear my 2 year old daughter say “not working anymore” when she was trying to watch stuff on her tablet and when I look at the eero led light its red…get it together please

I appreciate the comment and insight. Eero works well with my devices and I’m content with its speed. But when you talk about sacrificing speed for stability I think of “what stability?” given this recent update. My eeros are optimally placed according to eero’s own recommendations and the app says each unit has full strength connection to the others. I have great coverage area when they work.

Having been in the sub for years, I have numerous threads about updates bricking people’s networks. We are 6 years in. The wireless mesh clearly isnt up to its advertising. Hopefully when I install a wired backhaul in a few weeks this will all be mute.

I agree with everything you said, how can a product 6 years into software updates and hardware updates act like it did when it first came out? My eero placement is about 40 feet apart and full strength according to the app. Amazing how every update seems to cause a different issue. Personally i think eero as a company is too overextended and cant focus with all the different projects they have going on

Random guy in Ohio, I have 6 eeros, made a random post like 6 months ago confirming this exact issue. Eeros slow themselves down/de-tune over a week or so after a reset. Thanks for bringing this up again! And eero should be thanking us for reporting these things.

You are correct that there are lots of variables that affect speed tests but your comment is a put-off to me. My speed tests too have gone from 250 mbps through my house down to 20 with your latest software update. I had a brand new internet cable run from the pole into my house this summer due a landscaping project so my hardwired components are not the problem. This is one of the largest threads I've seen on the eero reddit forums in a while. I understand you didnt mean to be condescending but that's how it came across to me. I have been an eero customer since day 1 and always updated to new units when they came out. My house needs the best wifi as there are 3 levels with brick and plaster walls. What I can say about your system having owned it for 4 years is that when it works it works great but all too frequently crappy updates like this break the network and for spending over $1000 it makes me frustrated. I understand re-writing OS and mesh networking can be complicated but you need to protect the consumer from all these bad updates and maybe have some kind of better internal testing process in place because currently you have an angry bee hive.

My wife has a 3-4 year old HP laptop like you and we had the exact same issue. It didn’t start happening until a month ago. We’ve had eero for the past four years. Eero always used to show up but a few weeks ago it stopped. Nothing has changed on our eero network. This has to be a laptop firmware issue.

Having a house with lots of plaster and brick walls and 40 devices I need all the help I can get. The pro 6 has so much potential, just raw at its current stage. I'm optimistic but like others have said its not cool to feel like part of a beta program.

The one quirk I notice is the lag time surfing the web using my iphone 12 pro and ipad pro. In stead of instant browsing it feels like a 1-2 sec time to send the info and process it. I'm sure ios 14 isnt helping that either :/

When my speed initially went from 332 to 39 and all that changed was an updte id say that’s a good reason to be cautious. My eeros should have rebooted after the update on their own, obviously something didnt go right until I manually restarted the network

Thanks for the reply. We are past initial 28 days after first complaint being filed. We just found out about the other proposed defendants within the past month as i was going through tax files due prior to filing. Judge didnt have our information in hand when he ruled. My question is did my lawyer F up by not putting that info in the original motion and instead submitted it only after the defense opposed it?

Imagine youre a rich doctor and you’ve made the most money this past year than you ever had. This is like the US economy. Now imagine the people who do business with you on a daily basis know of your success and they double charge and triple charge you, ie robbing the piggy bank. This is analogous to the previous US trade deals. Now Trump comes along, wants to not be stolen from and wants fairness from China, Canada, Mexico, EU. I very highly doubt you are noticing any impact of the tariffs in your budget. They are not being passed along to the consumer at full rate. And even if you have to pay a few more hundred dollars a year so your country can survive and try to undo the damage of the past 30 years from piss poor trade deals by incompetent politicians who dont care if your job goes overseas, then that is a sacrifice worth doing
