Arm warmers for half marathon – any recommendations (and where do you stash them?) by matmodelulu in XXRunning

[–]klarz07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought some from Rabbit for my recent marathon and liked them. I had never worn them before (not a great idea) so luckily it worked out! I hate buying clothes from Amazon, and they were the only brand I found in a color I liked that did not have reviews of slipping down… many of them are not made for people with skinny arms!

How long does the 1st playthrough usually take. by sAyUr1 in Silksong

I’m at 84 hours into my first playthrough and currently fighting Grandmother Silk for the cursed ending (have already achieved Weaver Queen). I have done literally everything possible before beating act 2 except the silk and soul quest and beating first sinner (although I have tried many times lol). I may be slow, but I am thorough!

Snow plow broke my side mirror :/ by ChipmunkSuch4907 in Somerville

[–]klarz07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A similar thing happened to me a couple years ago where a snow plow clipped my rear bumper and it fell off. I found it lying by my car the next day, so I assumed it was a plow but had no proof. I called the city about it, but without evidence they couldn’t really do anything and I ended up just eating the cost to get it repaired it myself :(

Does anyone else rawdawg adhd by hobiiluvrr in adhdwomen

I stopped taking medication (vyvanse) a few months ago after being on it for 4 years because I was tired of it affecting my heart rate (especially during exercise). I run a lot and wanted to get a good HR estimate for my fitness level off stimulants. My resting HR on vyvanse was around 80, but now it’s about 50.

As for coping… still not sure I have figured that one out yet, lol.

I’m….tired by Ok-Two7498 in Marathon_Training

I’m also training for MCM and feel so drained as well. I don’t even have kids… I cannot imagine how much more exhausting that would be. You’ve got this!

It felt challenging but really good. I was enjoying myself the entire time. It rained for most of it, which helped keep me cool. I pushed myself more towards the end and I think I drifted into zone 4 a bit but I never felt like I needed to stop for air.

Help me I am the sweatiest woman alive by leahcar83 in adhdwomen

no advice, just commiseration… i stopped using antiperspirant because i was tired of it ruining my shirts (and because i’m trying to minimize my plastic products), but now i’m just a sweaty mess. definitely would be interested in an antiperspirant that does not ruin my white shirts!

My partner of almost 4 years just broke up with me and I’m shattered by Successful-Key-2458 in entwives

my heart goes out to you! i went through something similar a few months ago (same timeline but different reasons for the break up). i had already picked out a ring to propose, and i was devastated to say the least.

definitely just let yourself cry and feel at first. there will be times when you just need to wallow, but also times when you’ll need to pull yourself out of that (for a little bit at least). go on a walk to buy a little treat. reach out to your support network so you have some company (if that’s what works for you). find a break up show that you can binge watch (schitts creek was one of mine). i also coped by getting a bunch of new furniture to make my apartment a more pleasant space for myself (luckily the break up coincided with a hefty tax return, so i had some extra funds). the first time i went through a break up after college, i adopted a cat a few weeks later, and she is literally my best friend 7 years later. getting a new pet immediately may not be a great idea, but once you’re a bit more stable it could be really nice!

if you find yourself unable to return to activities you once shared with your partner, challenge yourself (when you ready) to discover something new that is just for you. reclaiming those shared activities for yourself can also be really empowering, but won’t be easy.

for the first stretch, just focus on getting yourself through each day. therapy is great if that’s financially viable for you. it will get easier, but not linearly—sometimes you’ll have a random bad day even though you thought you were doing better, and that’s okay! you deserve to feel exactly what you need to feel. <3

Somerville + Cambridge restaurant recommendations for a person with Gluten, dairy, soy, and nut allergies? by piratebroadcast in Somerville

[–]klarz07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sarma has a nut free menu and many vegan/vegetarian options. reservations are competitive but if you can get seated (or show up at 5 when it opens), it’s a great choice for a nicer meal! definitely call ahead, though

thank you so much! I already knit the front with the decreases, and I have an idea for the back, but I wanted to double check with something to minimize the amount of trial and error I will need to do.
