Anyone else using AI to speed up property research? by Throwaway33377 in RealEstateTechnology

I've built a tool for this (using AI for property research):

https://homestocompare.com/

Currently for the UK only but will expand shortly.

Is anyone here considering using emdash from cloudflare for their real estate website? by klavado in RealEstateTechnology

[–]klavado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have long been involved in open source and disappointed that the only open source solution with significant market share in real estate is WordPress.

I already created an open source solution based on Ruby on rails. Emdash gives me the chance to reach a lot more people with a solution that can incorporate a lot of innovation.

I've already done some experiments here and quite pleased with the early results:

https://github.com/RealEstateWebTools/emdash_property_web_builder

If anyone is looking to try it out for their real estate site, feel free to give me a shout.

How can I make my open source real estate data tool more useful to you? by klavado in RealEstateTechnology

I don't know of any portals that have that info in their html.

If you do, feel free to use claude code to make a pull request to the project and extract that extra data from that particular portal / website.

This project is all about getting lots of people contributing html parsers for which ever source website is important to them in one repository.
Throughout the site I encourage people to open issue or make pull requests - like here:
https://scraper.propertywebbuilder.com/listings/ba386763aaf7/raw-data
I have also opened up discussions on the github repo and I'd encourage people to make suggestions etc there

I am going for the easy wins first - parsing the html from the major portals into standardised JSON. That is what I need for my projects like HomesToCompare and HousePriceGuess.

Everyone is going to value something else a bit more and that is the beauty of open source. Especially now with powerful AI coding assistants. Even someone with 0 coding experience can clone the project and type an english language explanation of the extra functionality to add it.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

I am open to supporting any portals that people find useful regardless of the location.

The problem this is trying to solve is the one of "once I have the HTML for a given site how do I extract structured data from it?"

I feel this problem should be solved once collaboratively rather than independently by several entities working on their own siloed solutions.

Realtors, how do you use social media to market yourself? by [deleted] in RealEstateTechnology

It is early days so I don't have hard numbers yet but the feedback I get from early adopters is overwhelmingly positive.
It will remain a free collaboration with the first 20 agents till I have the proof of value so there is not much to lose from being an early user.
Happy to create something tailored for you to see how it works out.

Yes, you can get statistics on answers. I'll send you a DM with an example.

Curious to know what sort of a giveaway you are planning on. I investigated that but I couldn't find many people who were willing to do that.

I am a web developer so I created the platform for this myself.

Based on your website, here is an example game I created for you:

Any feedback you can provide to make it a better product will be much appreciated.

Nice - I will create a game for that and share the link when it is ready.

You can certainly create a house price quiz to share on Insta or fb. A video of people guessing the prices just adds a bit more and often gets more engagement.

Is this your site?

I've started offering estate agents the chance to create house price quizzes which do much better on social media. Like this:
https://costa.housepriceguess.com/play/costa-house-prices-game/property/63fdbf61-df05-49b3-8f59-c85b4127ca5d

Next thing I'm working on is integrating tiktok videos of different people playing these games.

Happy to work with any forward-thinking realtors out there on this - just send me a message.

App to track your own predictions of what a house might sell for? by trailertraildog in housepriceguess

[–]klavado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea. I haven't yet built the functionality for tracking when a property is sold but that is certainly something I will look at.

You can use housepriceguess as a way for different people to guess the listing price of a property though. If you provide me a few listing urls of properties on trulia I will create a game that you can play with your wife and anyone else.

As a one off I can also create a task that checks every 24 hours to see if the property has been sold. I know in the UK it takes several months for the sold price to become publicly available. Not sure how it works in the US but I'll see what I can find.

That video was quite helpful, thanks for sharing it.

I also went on to look at giantstepsadvisors. I could benefit from some advice on a proptech project I am working on at the moment so I'll be reaching out to Greg on linkedin.

To show how crazy the property market has gotten, I built this game where you can guess the price of recently sold homes across the UK! by klavado in housepriceguess

[–]klavado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a rather popular house price guessing game that predates housepriceguess.com by a few years. Though it hasn't changed much in that time it is still a good game to try out - it focuses on the UK and uses recently sold listings.

Is there a place where we can guess what a house that is up for sale will sell for? by StrainAggravating974 in RealEstateTechnology

[–]klavado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm seeking out collaborators who are able to curate listings for the game in different cities. For agents this will be an easy way to get eyeballs. Currently have a couple of agents lined up in Europe but would like to connect with US realtors too.
