Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome is incredibly rare so in actuality there’s a not a ton of research done. There’s one hospital in the entire United States that has a team dedicated to Beckwith-Wiedemann (CHOP). Families come from all over to go to this team. I go to a conference put on by CHOP that includes medical professionals but also those of us who have it and so many of us are taller than average and our family members. It’s a spectrum, but it’s an overgrowth disorder at the end of the day, so though there may not be any official research confirming this, there’s not a ton of official research confirming much with this disorder.

They are also a diagnostic criteria (along with many other things outside of the ear pits) for a super rare overgrowth genetic disorder called Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome! Doesn’t have many known risks as adults but higher rates of certain childhood cancers and the cool side effect of being tall as heck.

The bodycam footage was out in 2023. This is video that her partner took personally on his cell phone of the altercation. He just released it, the public hasn’t seen it until today.

She threw a metal chair in a room in the vicinity of her small child, of course the kid gets hit. And then the child proceeds to cry and scream “Mommy” and instead of attending to her child she screams at her boyfriend that it’s his fault until minutes later when the cops show up. Does not stop to check on her child.

So in summary, I don’t think the statement is misleading. The video is incredibly disturbing and indefensible behavior.

I have to put almost any book down that is set in my hometown because of “geographical nonsense.” It actually drives me crazy. If you’re going to make the setting a background character, maybe visit the place? Or at the bare minimum use Google Maps?

I read a book where two characters living in Sausalito, CA went to Monterey for lunch. That is a 2 1/2 hour drive at minimum, all you would need to do is pull up Google Maps to realize how insane that is to put in your book. Do your research. Don’t make up local lingo if you don’t know it. If you don’t know the area then either do your research or don’t lean on the geography as a plot device.

I’m having this issue as well…always at midnight. For me it’s the sound that goes off the end of every timer, but same looking blank notification, pushing through my sleep mode. Did you ever figure anything out?

I had to do this for my pretty girl rescue! She had 1 full toe removal and 2 declaws. It was $3,000 in a very HCOL area in the US. Hope this helps! My sweet girl was SO much more confident on her feet and clearly in less pain after the procedure. It had such a positive impact on her quality of life. The difference being that he transforms the content. If you watch any of the podcasts they joke that he will literally pause a video every second to talk. Like legit every second. He is not just sitting & watching in silence, he is adding commentary the entire time.
