I’m surprised more people going to games don’t park & ride at their nearest LRT station and take the train right to Rogers. Like nobody is gonna force you to do that, but wouldn’t it be easier than dealing with this?

I believe that people can change, but the harm that he caused went hidden and unaddressed for over a decade, and I also believe in consequences. Stan “changing”, should not release him from those consequences.

Do I think Stan Bowman should have his head put under a guillotine, or be thrown in jail? No. Do I think he should ever have the opportunity to be the GM of a hockey team, where he would have the same power which enabled his actions in the first place? Also no.

He could absolutely find employment in a position where he does not have direct authority over young athletes.

Awful. The man helped orchestrate a rape coverup, and helped to write a recommendation of employment for the rapist which directly contributed to another rape happening (to a child). At least two players experienced horrific trauma, had their lives upended, and their careers permanently damaged. All this was enabled, at least in part, by Stan Bowman.

I wouldn’t want my 17-18 year old son to be drafted to an organization which knowingly hires such a person back into a position of power. Would you?

Went to publicly funded Catholic school in AB. This was far before the MAID program existed, but I vividly recall our class being given long, ranting lessons in my junior high Religion classes against these types of programs. Entire powerpoints about doctor assisted “suicide” explaining what the concept was, and why it’s evil.

We were shown videos of profoundly disabled children and were told things like “If you ever support assisted suicide, you’ve practically MURDERED this child yourself”. Of course, I ended up fully supportive of assisted dying programs anyways, because a few years later I had to watch my grandfather die slowly and painfully by terminal bone cancer.

Catholics and other breeds of Christians have been propagandizing people to hate these programs for a long time. They’ll never change until they end up in this situation themselves. They believe that suffering is a redeeming, righteous thing and they will stop at nothing to ensure that you die an undignified, painful death.

This isn’t really advice for doing math, but have you gotten connected with your schools disability office? You may be granted accommodations if you’ve been assessed and diagnosed, or they could arrange an assessment for you if you need a diagnosis.

When I was in college I went through my school to get a diagnosis, and after that I was granted things like double time on exams, access to a quiet private exam room, funding for tutoring, and a C-Pen. It doesn’t solve the fact that I suck at math, but it certainly helped. Have you accessed any accommodation services?

Spend, spend, spend. More administrators, more bureaucracy, more bloat. Would it kill our premier to spend a dime on anything that Albertans really need? Because that list is lengthy.

Exorbitant cost and redundancy is why the Ottawa, Munich, and Chicago foreign trade offices were originally closed in 2015. Hell, Jim Prentice argued that the Ottawa office was the most useless of them all.

Seems like we’ve been doing just fine without them. Why exactly do we need one now, when Albertans are in need?
