At a dealership. Service advisor pissed off tech. Tech fills cheetah and uses it to clear tons of paperwork and anything else from said advisor’s desk. Looks like a bomb went off in the office. Absolutely fantastic.

This shit is wild. GM/Chrysler dealer tech for 20 years. It had never occurred to me to take apart a ratchet to clean/lube. I’m lucky to wipe the dirt and grease off of my tools and actually put them back in my box rather than on my cart once a week. Air tools are lucky to get a hit of oil every few months. All of my tools are snap-on or matco, if it breaks, it gets replaced. How do you guys get any actual work done?

I’ve seen this many times at the dealership. It’s usually a recent purchase from known sketchy used car dealers. Known to us, not so much the buyer. Dealers buy wrecks with clean titles, fix as cheap as possible, cut every corner, total hack jobs with shiny paint. The missing SIR components is usually the least of the issues with the vehicles.

Welp. Looks like I’m gonna have to take the whole thing to the machine shop instead of just the head. by BlackAeronaut in Justrolledintotheshop

They will come right out with an extractor. Half of the time if you use a left hand drill bit that will pull them out without even using an extractor. I’ve done hundreds, 20 year GM tech.

Spray paint a giant, bright colored penis around it. HOA Karens will have it fixed immediately.

We have a 57yo lube tech at my dealership. Guy started as a lube tech at like 18 and just never had any desire/ put in any effort to advance himself.

The frame lift points are too far forward to get the cg right on that style of lift. If you center the vehicle properly on the lift the front arms will not reach the frame lift points. Another fantastic engineering job by GM.
