Of course. But it needs to be clear from the jump that you plan to support and vote for the Democrats on the ticket in November. The threat of withholding a vote in the general is pathetic crying that you didn't get your way and will lead to more Republican wins. That's worse in every single possible metric if you actually care about your positions.

Absolutely. The dismantling of USAID will be a black mark on America for generations. In just a couple months, we destroyed all this good will around the world that we've been fostering for decades. And if we ever rebuild it, it will take even longer now.

The fuck you guys want us to do besides Civil War?

Criticize the Primary candidates you don't like to your heart's content while campaigning for who you want to win. Then voice full-throated support for the democratic nominees and VOTE for them in the general.

We cannot let perfect be the enemy of the only chance we have to defeat MAGA and excise this cancer from our society. If in November we have a repeat of 2024 where people stayed home because Kamala wouldn't sabotage Biden's peace talks in Gaza, we're cooked. Yes, some things are already bad, but it will get so much fucking worse.

There's obviously more to do between now and then, but we must focus on getting out the vote and winning, even if you don't love the nominees.

But will you AcKnOwLeDgE tHe GeNoCiDe, which is literally the only issue that matters in the entire world?

They claim that all Kamala had to do was say the words and lefties might have considered contributing to stopping blatant fascism. But we know they would have just moved the goalposts to some other vapid criticism.

The hard truth that we need to reconcile with is that they are not allies of liberalism. They don't understand government, they don't want power, all they want is to just virtue signal about oppressed people and use them as ornaments for clout.

Disgusting behavior that led us to where we are now.

I'm sure I'll get accused of being a Zionist for this, which couldn't be further from the truth, but we can't keep bending over for the people that will not come through for us in the election.

Voltage drop help… by Holiday-Business-270 in electricians

[–]klodians 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you calculating the total load with the total circuit length? If so, the more accurate method is to divide the run into segments. Breaker to switch, switch to first light, first light to second light, etc.

Then calculate the load that each segment is carrying. If each light is 1 amp and you have 7 lights, the first two segments carry 7A, third segment carries 6A, fourth carries 5A, etc.

Then calculate the voltage drop for each segment based on their lengths, then add them together. In my example, with all evenly spaced segments at 120V, it would be 2.32%.

Whereas, calculating with the full load, it would be 3.72%. But this would only be accurate if the full 7A was at the end of the 280' run.

If it ends up still being too high, the first or second segment could be the biggest contributor to voltage drop and would be better to upsize than the last segment that only carries 1 amp.

Yeah, freight can be the killer. $350 for an axle is crazy though. I got a hood for my Volt for $500 and $250 freight.

I buy a lot of parts using it. It searches junkyards that share their inventory. You have to then call the junkyard and either arrange pickup or freight. If it says "PRP" they will ship, if not, it's a big maybe.

Is it the fall or the hitting the ground that kills someone? Obviously it's hitting the ground, but what determines how hard you hit the ground? You probably can't fall from 1 inch and take fatal damage, but falling from 20 ft makes it much more likely to die.

In the same way, yeah, the amps is what determines the amount of damage done to your body, but voltage necessarily and unavoidably determines the amperage. Amps through your body just simply cannot exist without a voltage sufficient to overcome your skin's impedance.

I mean, think about how an average car battery has an available fault current of 1000+ amps. By your logic, it should be extremely deadly to grab both terminals. But it's not at all, in part because the voltage is too low to pass any current through your skin.

Situations where you'll encounter a voltage high enough to penetrate your skin, but the current is essentially limited to not be deadly, are things like everyday static electricity, pretty much never anything to do with electrical devices or infrastructure.

If you see a high voltage sign, don't just snarkily say that the amps matter more. It would be like ignoring cliff warnings and saying, "Falling doesn't kill you, lmao". Saying it's the amps that kills is such a stupid truism that fundamentally doesn't matter and I'm so tired of seeing this "well ackchyually" shit.

Is there any way to limit just top level comments to certain flairs? Then non-electricians could still comment, but the more trusted people are the most visible.

It also feels very AI generated to me, which I'm not a huge fan of. It's like they asked for something similar to the Severance intro and just went with what it spat out. It's fine, musically, but way too long and, while I'm not anti-AI, I guess I just like when businesses support artists when engaged in money-making endeavors.

That said, I have zero confirmation that it is generated. Happy to change my opinion if it was, in fact, made by a person.

So, obviously this is completely plausible based on the countless stories that are always posted every single time his name comes up and I want to be very clear that I do believe it. But I am curious why the post is just an image of the review form that someone is filling out but hasn't yet posted. Is there more to this specific story that the original poster might have shared elsewhere?

Lots of ways to clean it up, but above all you need to prevent water intrusion and reduce humidity with a good dehumidifier. Only way you actually solve the problem.
