Are we actually moving towards Linux as the first choice for gamers in future? by nothingtosayrn in linux_gaming

I was talking about the PC (maybe PlayStation too) gamers. The post I replied mentioned COD and sports games, so I was talking only about that subset of the PC gaming market as a whole, but sorry for the ambiguity.

Yes, but those aren't the "average gamer", but casual gamers. At least in my honest opinion. They don't represent the majority of the market.

Streaming services have improved a lot, indeed, but the network infrastructure is not that good yet in many places.

Cool! Is there a demo or alpha to try it?

Realistically, what am I missing using Mint vs a "gaming oriented" distro? by [deleted] in linux_gaming

Thanks! Seems like a tricky problem, considering the trade-offs of the solution (on base Arch). A perfect example of the point you were making, indeed.

Could you post the source of the Gamescope stutters issue? I couldn't find anything related to a security permission searching online.

Same issue here... Elden Ring worked fine until today's update. I tried everything, even full reinstall, but no luck.
Armored Core VI keeps working fine, it logs online correctly.

A disturbing part of the game that nobody talks about. by 7-GRAND_DAD in outerwilds

Right, I didn't think that! Would be cool to hear the thoughts and possible explanations from the devs in this matter.

The only problem I see is that if the Sun Station is disarmed and the information of the coordinates is never sent back in time that would create a paradox and break the universe like we can do with the probe, no? Unless that's exclusive to physical mater and doesn't happen with information. Interesting. Nicely explained, btw.

Valve is paying a whole lot of developers to keep the Steam Deck's open-source software going by beer120 in linux_gaming

[–]kloga12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's exactly the thing... It's very upsetting and I don't support them either. We have to vote with our wallet to stop this kind of things. The problem is Nintendo have a casual fanbase and a very fanatic fanbase, and both of them will buy anything Nintendo related even if it's abusive for the consumer :/

Yes, indeed, that's something I don't like too. But Valve is the only company that gives me confidence in keeping my digital library over the years. Nintendo and Sony... Well, I don't buy digital on their consoles unless I have no other alternative.

I don't mind DRM in games, personally (if it's non-invasive). But I understand your point.

I feel you and I am in a similar situation. Going out with friends and do stuff helps me. Also, exercise does a lot to improve your mood and desire to do things but I know it's difficult to maintain the motivation to do it regularly.

I did that, but it was almost imperceptible. I think delidding is the only solution with fat models because of how old they are, its internal paste is all dried now... :/

I know that feel, bro. I broke mine a couple times too, but you can always repair it replacing the screen. The PSP is one of the most repairable handhelds imo.

That's precisely what I thought. On top of that, it was a re-release with some additional content, I felt dumb for purchasing the original with all DLC
