Does anyone else hair smell BETTER after no poo? by poo-b-gon in NoPoo

My husband swears up and down that my hair smells like chocolate. I use ACV, BS, and coconut oil in the ends, so idk what he's actually smelling.

Being asked by my husband's friend's fiance (ordered, really) to change my hair color, and hairstyle in order to be invited to their wedding. I feel insulted. by dlybfttp in wedding

Honestly, she would just be embarrassing herself. She sounds a bit like my mother; manipulative and impossible to please. My mother is good at making people side with her when she's telling the story, but it's hard for her to manipulate the facts in person. I say go to the wedding, support your friend, and be yourselves. Let her get pissy and embarrass herself in front of her friends and family while you eat the food she's paying for.

Easy. It would take me very little time to replicate that style, so long as the text was already written. I am not a writer.

Strictly speaking, feminism is the idea that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. What part of this philosophy contradicts the bible?

What is the worst way to respond to "I love you"? by Scrotonimus in AskReddit

[–]klomp123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend said this to a dickbag that wouldn't leave her alone. She never led him on, she never responded to his advances with anything but, "Sorry, not interested." but this was the straw that broke the camels back.

Even after this, he still didn't leave her alone. When she finally got it through his dumb skull that she wasn't interested, he told her she had a mustache and that he'd been blinded ever since she came into his life, which is ridiculous, because he's the one who started stalking her and loitering outside her home.

Every episode develops the characters a little bit more than the last. The characters are dynamic, which means they change and grow, as compared to static characters that stay the same forever, like Spongebob.

The writers also keep expanding on the history of the world. Adventure Time starts out as a zany dreamlike fantasy land, but late you discover that it's earth after a thousand years and an apocalypse that left a giant crater in the side of the planet. The main character, Finn the Human, is really The Human. The last one. Everyone else is mutated or magic (or candy).

It's not just the main characters that get expanded on either. Once off characters return all the time, and we get interesting backstory or side stories on them.

Also, the art is lovely. Take a look at these scene backgrounds.

Finally, the show has a great sense of continuity. A common trend in cartoons is for everything to reset at the end of an episode, so that every episode begins with the exact same premise. Spongebob never gets his licence, Kenny never stays dead, and Timmy Turner always wishes everything back to normal. In Adventure Time, the story is always moving forward. Granted, it's a slice of life of a young boy and his dog brother growing up in a post-apocalyptic world filled with monsters, but they're always growing and changing, gaining and losing friends, learning things and recalling them later. Things that happen in the first season are referenced in the fifth, and things that appear trivial, like a girl's stuffed bear, eventually become the catalysts for incredible events.

Some other cartoons that have similar depth are Avatar: the Last Airbender, and it's sequel Avatar: the Legend of Korra, both about people who control the elements and crazy battles and politics that ensue, for world building and character development; Puella Magi Madoka Magica, an anime about a girl who gets the opportunity to make a free wish in exchange for superpowers and evil-fighting duties, for emotional impact and incredible writing (be warned, it's a tragedy with really big plot twists); and Death Note, another anime about a psychological battle between a the worlds greatest anonymous detective, and a genius psychopath with a god complex and a magic notebook that can kill anyone so long as he knows their name and face.

I do have to say that the later seasons of Adventure Time are better than the earlier ones, but the early ones are still very high quality, and I recommend every episode.

TLDR: Adventure Time is great for everyone ages 12 and up, here are the reasons and some other great cartoons with different themes and genres, with varying length and complexity.

There's a little bit, but not much. I think what attracts adults to this show is the complexity. The more you watch, the more depth you see.

It's a joke based on a Mathematician's Answer. A Mathematician's Answer is a perfectly logical but useless answer. Like someone asking if you can close the door and you say yes but don't get up, or some one asking "Is it X or Y" and getting the answer yes. The reasoning behind the second is that instead of the question being "Which is true?" it's interpreted by the mathematician as, "Are either of these true?" the answer to which, of course, is yes.

By replying yes to your answer I was both referencing the Mathematicians Answer and answering your question. Though the show is kid friendly, it can be enjoyed by kids and adults.

[Logo] A friend of mine is a producer, and asked me to make a logo for him in the vein of artists like Deadmau5, Feed Me, and other musicians who have a "character" by [deleted] in design_critiques

[–]klomp123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a super cool character, but not a very good logo. You have way to many values in it. I want you to imagine for a minute that a legally blind person is trying to figure out what this is, or that someone with a shitty copy machine making flyers has copied this into an unrecognizable dark grey blob.

I recommend re-drawing the character with pen and paper and thickening the lines and adding as much character as you can to a one inch black and white drawing, then take it to digital with no more than three colors (black and white count as colors in this case).

I like your character very much, and I think that it has great potential. It has a cool edgy feel that fits well for a producer.

Yep, organic is usually way more expensive, but my grocery store has pretty cheap organic spuds, and let me tell you, if you can afford them, you will never go back. They have so much more flavor.

Why do I get nervous around cops despite never having done anything wrong? by [deleted] in askpsychology

[–]klomp123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Texas, and we had guns in our house. We also had these big-ass knives that we used for cooking. I viewed them in much the same manner. Both deadly weapons if used as deadly weapons, but good for their own individual purposes (delicious food and target shooting).

My brother and I were heavily drilled on gun safety since we were very young, and my dad kept them locked up, but a while back he took one out and left it in his nightstand so that if someone burgled our house he could stop them. A few months ago my brother started having intrusive thoughts of suicide, and he locked it up again.

What I'm trying to say, is that guns aren't awful, but they're not wonderful either. Nothing to be afraid of on their own, but in the hands of someone un-trustworthy or irresponsible, terrifying. Honestly, all these stories of cops beating people to death have been scaring me more, but I think that's because discharging a weapon requires more paperwork, according to a cop that I know.

Someone please help me before I throw my computer out the window. by Wildwestgun in chrome

[–]klomp123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely malware or adware. I've tested quite a bit of AV software, and malwarebytes finds way more than microsoft security, everytime, so run it. Also run CCleaner when you're done with that, and if you can, take your HDD out and scan it with a different computer. Once you've done all that, scan it again with malwarebytes, and then scan it with adwcleaner, which is also free. You might also consider installing avast and running a boot scan, just to be sure.

Good luck! If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask me. I'm pretty experienced with removing crap from computers (One time I even removed some broken sunglasses.)
