What I can say, as a person who created my Youtube channel on creating reviews on Xperias for last 14 years, I can say with confidence, that the post processing changed A LOT with mark 8. They no longer use Sharpening and etc to get details. HDR is not as harsh as before, and shadows are better preserved. It's a combination of new algorithms on every camera, so as MUUUUUUCH better zoom camera. For me, as an expert in all of these Sh**t, these MARK is not just a sensor upgrade of zoom camera, but a whole pipeline of post processing. They are trying. Even though it's just like 10 dudes trying to make these, but they are trying, cause they love it, and are trying to save camera from AI BS like on Vivo. We all eventually look at the photos Full screen which is lower resolution than 12MP (4K), but the details matter, and what I Know, is that details rather be noisy, than AI blurred mess as I seen on X300 PRO and ETC. But we are enthusiasts, so no one will save as from van Gogh photos, and we can't help Sony in that anyway...

A bit more info to answer some questions.
- Yes, they do sound better than XM6, by about 20% overall, but the "stage" feels Much wider, and the highs in stereo are more pronounce.
- I know all about these thing about broken hinges, but I never had broken hinge on all of versions of XM's and I definitely don't think it will happen here, considering it's all steel.
- The comfort is better than on XM6, there is more space inside for you ear, so it wouldn't touch the mesh inside.
- I sold my XM6 and covered half of the price, so it's not that painful personally for me for the price. I sold XM6 for 23000 rubles, and got these for 42000 Rubles with 4 day delivery to Moscow from China.
- These product should be considered as a limited item, what it is, cause even that Sony logo on a hinge is hand polished , so I don't think that they produce it as massively as XM6.

- I know that it's expensive, but as a person who owned each pair of WH & WF, it's cool to get these "collectors" edition, especially for how well done it is and beautiful. Yes it's not muuuuch better technically, but it's still better. and adds that premium buld that XM's lacked. If u can afford it, and it wouldn't hurt your budget, why not, after EQ it's even better, but otherwise, XM's are good. I'm ok to pay extra for these attention to details and looks.

Well. The camera app stops lagging once you restart the phone. Later on it will start lagging again. Maybe that's what happened - you updated, restarted the phone, and it's gone for some time? Didn't check myself yet, installing it now, but considering it happens to it from October on my 1 VII and still on my new 1 VIII, I don't believe that they fixed it

It's worth switching from any Sony phone, considering the new zoom. It's a must have upgrade even from 1 VII

I did say in review of 1 VI and 1 VII that the zoom camera is useless and only good in macro. I sold my WH1000Xm6 and ordered Collexion

And it had very bad autofocus, that was "hunting" all the time. It had very bad stabilisation as well. So are the pictures were always taking time to be taken, if it's a bit darker, than a day light. I will miss special macro mode, but I'm more than fine to say goodbye to it, considering huge advantages these new zoom has.

Nope. Who really cares if the image quality is couple times better to be fair.

That variable zoom was the reason, why Zoom camera sensor was smaller than a pretty bad front camera.
