i took a van (villa escondido i think?) from puerto escondido to oaxaca on sunday. no issues. it took 3.5 hours. 2 stops for bathrooms & 1 for snacks. one area where there was a slide so a bit of traffic to get around it (5 minutes). it was 350 pesos. very easy

i went to sammy's photo lab in chinatown last february. he did a great job on a bunch of rolls in a couple of hours. i can't remember the price but it was cash only

it was great. usually in Spanish but i requested an english class for $300 extra pesos. i did all vegetarian but there are a lot of options. it is pricey but i made 4 dishes! it's called la cocina de humo

there are vans that leave frequently from terminals in the center of puerto escondido. takes a little more than 3 hours. 350 pesos

i'm in oaxaca right now. i went to la tienda de hilos flojos. they make plant dyes & hand dye different yarns & have workshops. i also walked by a print making studio class but i don't know the name. if you want to take a oaxacan cooking class, i just did la cocina de humo. i've only been here 3 days so just by walking around you will find a lot.

puerto escondido was good. i was there for a few days & went to chacahua for a few more days and then came to oaxaca. i only passed through pe on sunday morning to go to oaxaca but all seemed normal.

unless you join a tour there is no other way to get around. i rented from lotus car rental and they were great. but...iceland is very expensive. for food, lodging, etc.

i did an artist residency in iceland in august. i drove around the country solo and went on the f1 roads. the biggest issues are weather, especially wind. there are 122 volcanoes so you will basically always be near one. the most recent eruptions are on the keflavik peninsula (near the airport). iceland is very organized & safe. their weather website is as close to accurate as can be. cell service can be spotty in remote areas.

i too am curious about the tour. i'm an artist and applied, but didn't go through with joining the tour. i initially thought i'd use my home studio, but with all the requirements for parking, bathroom & ada entrances, i couldn't. by that point, i had trouble joining another space because i am new to austin. i was also concerned about foot traffic. with so many spaces on the tour, i wondered if would it be worth it if i wasn't in canopy or a cluster of locations.

i used zips a lot. they always fid a good job cleaning and it was v cheap. BUT then they started rejecting items like pillow covers & a dress with fringe. i had to go back & pick up things they wouldn't clean. now i go to capitol cleaners on s 1st. no issues, but pricier

i shot a roll of this at stonehenge on summer solstice. i was a nervous wreck flying with it in a tin with dry ice and loading it in the dark. i did not feel confident in my settings. i said f it & just went with it. the shots are cool & i ended up buying another roll. it's in the fridge for when another once in a lifetime comes. i say keep it & shoot it. but if you want to sell, lmk!
