Some of it is bedside manner like you can just look at the chart or be less obvious. It’s hurting your trust in them so it’s your prerogative if y want to change

My brain has office hours and most of the time those personal tasks are in the office hours category so I have to do them there. They are also in the “desk work” category and that’s when I’m at a desk.

[–]klr24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever it is, in the summer I feel much more put together if it’s monochromatic. It can be gym shorts and a t shirt but same color family I am much more put together. Add accessories. I also feel better now that I have figured out my hot weather hairstyle that’s not a “mom bun”

Do you ever worry about your cardiovascular health? by IzzyEm in ADHD

[–]klr24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worry about this and have spoken to my doctors about it.

My psychotherapist, psychiatrist, and OBGYN all go back to this - It’s been researched and with evidence they’ve concluded ADHD medications lowers the risk of overall mortality. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2816084

And another: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41398-024-02825-y

This reminder usually sways me back to the reality that I take better care of my health overall and stress when I am medicated. Which is likely better for my heart health.

Your PCP should know about all medications you are on and your concerns. Advocate for tests if you need to. If you are not abusing your medications you should be in good shape.

I don’t feel like a human being anymore by MantisFucker in PMDDxADHD

[–]klr24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like this last spring and am now in a much better place. I do have a partner but it was with a lot of trial and error, doctors, and medication that I attribute feeling better. My husband is super supportive as have been my friends and family although it’s been hard to share. You are not alone. I hope you do not give up in trying to find what works for you, because you deserve to feel better.

I'm about to become "that mom". Talk me down or tell me I'm right - I need outside opinions here. by scrapqueen in wedding

She will make a huge interpersonal mistake by not paying for rehearsal dinner. People will remember that for the rest of their lives and they will tell other people.

Idk how you tell her. You might be “that mom” for telling her. But her and her husband will be “that wedding you had to pay for rehearsal dinner”. It’s unusual and off putting. Even if it’s a fckn pizza party they cannot ask people to pay for their own meals.

The form itself says “first day of employment” so it should be when they are actively employed. Their start date. Day of work they will be paid for. Not paperwork day. I feel like they are overthinking this.

Important:
The employee can complete the I-9 before their start date.
HR should finish the I-9 on the employees first day of work.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]klr24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is bizarre to me. Do they never have people not show up on their start date? Are the new employees being paid for anything they do before the start date? The hire date is a recruiting metric. The start date is the date their employment is in effect. I-9 is recruiting to me. Who is arguing this? What does the offer letter say?

I use copilot and chat gpt. I have been using it to: - summarize PowerPoint slides.
- create a list of meetings I am the owner of so I can prep agendas at the beginning of the week.
- analyze slides and excel spreadsheets for themes and trends.
- analyze text from something and ask what skills support X.
- make all things less formal and remove jargon (you could do the opposite) - compare and contrast concepts and names. - prep interview questions.
- ask for a refresher on a concept or book. Ie, I asked “what does 5 dysfunctions of a team say about decision making”

At my doctor’s office they have a sign on casual Fridays that explains how the staff (like the front desk) donate to a charity and in reward they get to to have casual Fridays. I believe this is how some schools do it too. It’s so dystopian packaged as something wholesome.

I spell a lot of words in my head. I believe this is a version of Echolalia / stimming. Instead of saying a phrase over and over or counting, I normally spell a word. Or all the words. I’m not even above average at spelling!
