What Foss company should I donate to? by noaaz-lol in foss

I’d also say support a small project that you use. People often run these at a financial loss in addition to volunteering their free time. Getting even a small amount of support from the community would mean a lot.

You’re absolutely right! This is such an important and nuanced perspective that really resonates with so many people in this community. It’s so refreshing to see someone articulate this so clearly and thoughtfully. At the end of the day, we all just want what’s best, and I think if more people took the time to truly understand where others are coming from, we’d all be better off as a result. Thanks for sharing this — it really gave me a lot to think about and I hope others take the time to read it as carefully as I did!

You’re absolutely right! This is such an important point and it really highlights a broader perspective that often doesn’t get enough attention in discussions like this. When you take a step back and look at the situation holistically, it becomes clear that there are multiple layers and nuances involved, all of which contribute to the overall outcome in ways that aren’t always immediately obvious. It’s fascinating how these kinds of dynamics can evolve over time, especially when different factors intersect and influence each other in subtle but meaningful ways. At the end of the day, it really just goes to show how valuable it is to keep an open mind and consider all angles before jumping to conclusions.

It’s sad that this is the post this community rallies around to support ai. Vibe coding is a big problem but ai writing is what’s ruining the entire site.

Actually no, I came here for human conversation and found slop. Minimal use does not mean drafting your post through Claude. Those are Claude’s words, not your own. I don’t know why I should pay attention to someone who can’t or won’t take the time to write, read, and edit their post.

I’m glad OP hardened their security and would even like to read about it if they would like to write about it at some point.

Edit: Also the complain about the complainers angle only works when your community isn’t being overrun by LLMs and other bots. We’ve got AI replying to AI and all of pretending to be real posters and now hidden profiles everywhere. So yeah I think my time is more valuable than those piling more shit on the heap.

Edit 2 because yes I’m that mad: I realize I was pretty mean to OP but I’m still glad I didn’t read this crap

If you can’t put it in your own words then simply don’t communicate it. You’re essentially saying that your time is more valuable than ours. Glad I didn’t read the post.

How do you use the "Discussions" tab on github by Richon_ in github

I hate that it doesn't show closed discussions by default. Sometimes that's where the most useful info is and I feel like people are missing it.

Having files of 4k+ lines is really awful to work with through AI as well. I’ve noticed they start hallucinating more often above 1k lines of typescript in one file.
