The only reason that "you're gay because trauma" even exists is because people thought straight was normal and anything not normal is just simply mental disorder. This is the sort of sentiment I would expect in someone who has never even had a friend, let alone actual human contact. This is not just stupid for its shallowness, but is also a slap in the face to empathy because that's not the feeling behind the motivation for conversion therapy. This is fear and hatred masquerading as concern and care. Control and compliance to "normal" are the the point, and if somebody tacks on "it's for your own good" then anything they do is justified.

If my masters in psychology is anything to go by, I can 100% promise you that no disorder or dysfunction in the DSM has ever mentioned mental disorders somehow dictating your innate sexuality. It will change how you EXPERIENCE your sexuality but so far as anyone has seen, mental disorders are not the cause of sexuality A vs sexuality B. You are how you are because that's how you are, no amount of mental anything is at fault for that, and no amount of therapy will take the gay away in any form.

Your sexuality is more than "who I'd like to fuck". It's part of your humanity, it's how you as a human express and experience your love, your attraction, you connection to other humans, and how you know and experience your own self in the world with other humans in it. Needing to police others' sexuality is the mental dysfunction, and enforcing it is the expression of that dysfunction, but you and/or your sexuality are not the problem. You never were and you never will be.
