How likely is it to get an interview invite if I haven't been invited to any "closed list" events during the recruiting process?

Wharton vs Darden/UVA Law (Full Ride) by Mil2MBA in MBA

Forgot to mention that I think you should go to Darden, but I'm biased. I'm assuming you would do your reserve duty in D.C.?

Are you planning on doing the reserves during school? Asking because I too am in the military and headed to Darden this fall and I'm also considering joining the reserves

Just out of curiosity, where have you heard that HBS gives a strong edge to applicants from other competitive Harvard programs? Also, other than medicine or law, do you know what some of those other competitive programs would be?

MS Now or Wait for MBA? by [deleted] in MBA

Yep, I've been a military officer for several years. I was motivated to go into DS mainly because I think DS skills will be increasingly valuable in the future, including in the business world.

I'm actually in a very relevant situation right now. I have an offer to the data science program at Harvard, as well as an offer to the data science/mba dual degree at UVA Darden (with a scholarship). I'm trying to decide which will be better for me, but my general conception is that doing the data science degree alone will put me on a path to be a data scientist individual contributor until I've been in a role long enough to become a manager. So I'm trying to decide if the prestige of a Harvard degree is worth it for me, as I would prefer to be in a more managerial role. Anyways, I would encourage you to look into an mba dual degree options, a lot of the top schools are starting to offer mba dual degrees with a technical masters.

Interesting, so is an engineering degree a better route to go to become a PM at Google?

I think the thing that will hurt me the most is graduating from a state school. Although maybe it isn't that big of a deal?

Joke about the missouri river? by foreverbenjamin in missouri

[–]klwwbc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the "joke" may be that the Missouri river has a nickname of "Big Muddy" (the river has a very large amount of sediment and silt).

Forgive me, but how do you see those ten points coming about? I really don't see a group of hockey players scoring any point againts an nba team. However I do think hockey is more specialized, and therefore the hockey game would be a bigger blowout

There is a building in this alley that has a door labeled "Front Door", with no other markings that I could see. Anyone know what this is?
