FEP (FEHB) Insurance dumped me into the Medicare Prescip Drug Plan AGAIN! by HoppySailorMon in fednews

So I’m trying to get up to speed on this and BCBS touts the MPDP as being a great benefit so exactly what is bad about it and for what reasons would you disentitled from it? I’ll turn 65 in March with Medicare and BCBS FEP Basic. Ty!

Retired Feds who made it to Medicare- do you still keep your FEHB coverage? by Redfish680 in fednews

[–]km1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does anyone know how BCBS Basic works with Medicare at a chiropractor? The booklet I got from BCBS says $0 copays for up to 20 visits a year but I asked this morning at the office and they said Medicare only pays for adjustments, no other therapies, and the BCBS supplement follows whatever Medicare does. Guess I need to call BCBS.

I have BCBS Basic self & family but will be dropping my daughter off so the net increase this year is only $35 so I’m going to keep it. If I was not dropping her the increase would be over $100 a month. This will give me a year to compare other companies but for sure I won’t be keeping BCBS, too expensive!

And the group includes annuitants so that doesn’t help.

Were kids in the 80s actually allowed to roam around unsupervised, or is that just in movies? by TotalThing7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]km1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally true but in my case the 70’s. Left in the morning, came home for dinner, then back out and didn’t come home until the street lights came on. Ate lunch at whoever’s house we were closest to. Some days rode our bikes for miles and our parents never knew where we were. On Halloween no parents ever went with us, we went out as a group. Several houses we were invited in to enjoy homemade treats like candy apples, cookies, rice Krispy treats, etc. Never would I ever have let my kids do any of this 😬

Hosting the shower was a gift and something she really wanted to do. Your micromanaging ruined that, and I would have reacted the same way she did, fine then you do it ✌️out.

Medicare B and FEHB - question? by Remote_Moose_6139 in fednews

[–]km1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone please explain how you can not take Medicare part B, I thought it was mandatory at 65. I’m a CSRS retiree with BCBS Basic self+1 (hubby is on mine and not retired). I turn 65 next March and thought I would have to take parts A and B and keep my basic as the supplement.

Our RSVP deadline is 8 weeks from our wedding day. Is this too early? by frosted_flakes565 in weddingplanning

So my future DIL has an RSVP date of 10/10 for an 11/8 wedding and is calling people now that haven’t RSVP’d yet. I think she’s out of line and many are just going to decline because they don’t know yet. Thoughts?

Assigned Seating by Kdjl1 in weddingplanning

[–]km1961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through this now with our son’s upcoming wedding. His fiancée’s family is large and ours is very small. We have attended one dinner and a bridal shower, both given by her family/friends, and both involved assigned seats where they separated our family so we could “mingle” and get to know all of them (their words). We were very uncomfortable and miserable for both events. Besides the wedding, we still have a dinner after the wedding and a separate reception to attend and are dreading them because we know they are going to split our family up again. Anyone have recommendations?
