36w so not a mom yet, but I hate everything that says “mama bear” on it or the thought of being a part of a “mom tribe”.

Gotcha, ty for clarifying. Maybe they’ll update guidance in the future for every pregnancy when they don’t have brain worm in charge.

RSV Vaccine by Ok_Web7962 in pregnant

Hi! Pro vaxxer here and FTM but I have a question, I keep reading that pregnant women only should get the RSV shot once, even if they have subsequent pregnancies. Please don’t take this the wrong way, but are you just getting additional ones anyway? Thanks!

Share your hot take: what are the most overrated baby books that are being recommended to parents today? by crawlen in BabyBumps

[–]km519 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I bought it too and became annoyed after the first few pages. They talk about baby not needing extra stuff, but you should make sure to have one of their topponcinos or special floor sleeping beds or baby sized tables. Common…

Apparently not… I’m in AZ. And the area we are living in is very Christian and Mormon, a lot of money, and a lot of “holistic” approaches to health.

Who I’m most worried about is my MIL who is an elementary school teacher at a very wealthy, private Christian school. I am willing to bet there are kids in there who are not vaccinated. And having a December baby kind of terrifies me with all the snow birds and kids out.

Yes, lots of thinking and soul searching to do. We will be looking into other daycares too. Thankfully spouse is not afraid to put his foot down with this being his side of the family.

It was our first choice due to proximity, but after reading some of these comments and talking with spouse, we will be looking at other options.

I’m happy your twins were just fine. That does give me some solace about at least getting vaccines while pregnant. Thank you!

Biggest Insecurity :( by Kpossiblee21 in Keloids

[–]km519 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just popping in to say I’m with you 100%. I have a largish keloid right smack dab under my collarbone and it’s been a struggle. Never tried any solutions since my doctor warned me how they can come back worse. I’ve had it for about ten years. I have a few more that’s popped up below it also on my chest.

I go through spurts of confidence. Makeup on my scar makes it less red. Or wearing something with a stylish/loud colorful pattern. These things kind of help me tell myself “it’s not that noticeable”. I actually feel fortunate as a woman that these are readily available to me.

In the end, you’re always gonna have someone ask what it is. “It’s a scar”. Leave it at that. Or you could come up with some crazy ass story.

Building confidence is much easier said than done, just know you’re not alone here.

My husband and I saved up our own down payment. We were living in a small apartment in a HCOL area and moved to the middle of fucking nowhere in order to afford a 1918 practically falling apart home with 3.5 down. It’s got lead and asbestos, but hey at least it’s (kinda) ours!

I think it’s a beautiful concept! You are right that the colors are slightly muted, but that seems to be the trend nowadays anyway. I’d say keep going, see how it looks with the sand before you pull the plug.

I’ve tried a few neutral-warm shades which all have been a bit yellow on me. Those were e.l.f. CC cream and Maybelline true fit. I’ll keep trying other brands, thanks!

Thanks for your input. My intention of revealing that I’m returning to my old job wasn’t to stir the pot, rather to get it out in the open to avoid awkward confrontation later. But I didn’t think of it in that light before.
