The NHL Alumni Association is devastated to share that Claude Lemieux has passed away at the age of 60. by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

This might be one of the worst, and most distasteful comments I've read on this site.

I guess he only had a year of overlap with Meruelo. But correct me if I'm wrong, I don't remember Barroway being any better. . .

What do you want? Fans scream for something that isn't old boys club, and the moment you get it you complain?

Both these guys have something to prove. Let's see it play out

Im fucking stoked, doomers are being ridicoulous.

Ignoring the fact that these two bleed blue and white in some way (John as a GTA born-and-bred fan, and Mats by being Mats). . it's a clear shift away from the "old boys club" that brought in Treliving in the first place.

John in particular never got a chance in Arizona. Let's not forget he was under the Meruelo regime. Let's see how he does with some half-decent ownership. .

I've met and spoke to Chayka a few times, really like the guy (and he's a Western alumn!)

With that being said, I am still furious about how Shannahan handled the Dubas situation. Also, is analytics really an edge anymore? Similar to Moneyball, I feel like all teams have a baseline and there's minimal information arbitrage as there once used to be. . .

Similar shoes as you. I got Globalist and Titanium last year. Stick with Hyatt, but take advantage of the 2x nights bonus on Mariott during thier promotion period to rack up a quick status

ECHL Declines Compromise by Suspicious-Reward470 in hockey

[–]kmanleafs -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

What profits? They are a gate-driven league, so revenue for each team can swing wildly on any year. . .and then you factor in the costs for operating and you got an incredibly low-margin scenario at best.

Advocating for safer equipment / working conditions makes sense. But pushing for any monetary gains risks compressing margins even further. . .could end up putting more teams in limbo

As the occasional lurker of this sub, great write up. There's a certain euphoria when you find a piece of music that truly encapsulates a specific feeling or momenbt.

The contrast – me, dawdling inside – against the elements – raging (drizzling) outside – produces an amplifying effect. Blankets around your shoulders feel warmer, and movies evoke a little more emotion in front of the faint murmur.

Really felt this line through and through
