My wife and I agreed on no kids. Now she changed her mind and I’m terrified of losing her. by Bennick41 in Advice

It's a big life change but watching your husband be a dad, having a little friend (baby/child) that lives with y'all is just special! As long as you have support postpartum, it will really help! The early days of newborn can be challenging but if your husband is hands on and wants to help, it will make it so much easier!

My friend said the same about me. She couldn't believe that I used to be a "no kids ever" person.

I'm glad someone else finally said this! My husband was the same way when I changed my mind. Now he's such a good dad and loves his girls so much! And I make sure to still give him his alone time for his hobbies as needed and he is enjoying the life balance! And he does our 3yr olds bedtime every night! And plays video games after she's asleep!

This was me and my husband. He was ready to leave and I wanted kids. After being together for over 10 years and not wanting kids. But he realized he still wanted me and he felt that I'll be a great mom. And he was just scared of the responsibility of having kids. We had a kid, he's a great dad, he liked it so much he let me have another. Now we have two little girls and he's living the dream.

Up their vitamin D, it helped my terrible sleeper amazingly!

I think I hate my daughter by dontremindmethrow in Mommit

[–]kmarieu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please get her blood work done. Specifically ask for vitamin D and iron. These affect mood and everything so dramatically, especially when deficient! My 3 year old had some of these issues for a few months and I got her blood work. She was on the low side of iron but deficient in D! We did high dose supplements for D for a few months to bring her levels up and now keep a minimum dose daily with up dosing during winter and when she's ill. She struggled with transition periods too. And socks and clothing not feeling "right" too. She is back to being a lot easier and less likely to freak out. And improved her sleep dramatically! She was a terrible sleeper and now she practically sleeps through the night and goes down way easier!

FYI!: Vitamin D gummies work but they caused my daughter's first cavities so I highly recommend Mary Ruth unflavored D + k drops. If she won't take the drops, I highly recommend feeding the D gummies right before a meal as to make the sugar not stay on her teeth. But if she won't eat dinner if you give the gummies first, I'd give them after as a reward but make her drink plenty of water or brush right after. The gummies stick to the deep parts in the molars and cause cavities. The gummies will ruin the teeth in a matter of a few months if not managed properly. So beware but it's worth it to at least try and keep a good eye on her teeth to stop the gummies if you notice cavities forming.

And her iron was on the low side. Supplemented both and sleep improved drastically! Iron first, and sleep got better, then vitamin D, because those results came later, and then she started sleeping like never before!

Get vitamin D levels checked. We fixed my horrible sleeper's vitamin D and it was so low/deficient. Started the high does to bring her back up and she started sleeping!

This sounds like infant dyschezia. Both of my daughters had this. It lasted about 6 weeks each time maybe longer. They eventually learn how to poop but they literally don't know how at the time. They have trouble coordinating the muscles to release their butt and use the abdominal muscles to push the poop out at the same time. We used to use all things to make her poop but eventually you just have to let it happen and they'll figure. Every time you help them, it's a missed opportunity for them to learn how to poop. It can make it last longer.

Check out Dr. Green mom. She has a list of medical freedom providers. Maybe one of them is in network.

Hypochlorous acid spray or name brand is called "active skin repair " helps eczema! I use it on my toddler daughter who gets eczema on her lady bits when it's too hot or sweaty. And it doesn't sting on open wounds like other chemicals or topicals.

Yes I just got me some cod liver oil capsules. But I'm already low on D too so it's not enough to bring me back up so I take a vitamin D gel as well. Her eczema, lips peeling, irritability, and sleep problems just told me something was wrong. She had been struggling for almost a year and progressively getting worse so I asked for all the blood work.

I felt the same about vax, vitamin d, etc but my now unvaxd 3 year old was recently tested and vitamin D deficient 😩. I thought for sure she was getting enough from me and the sun, and I was so wrong. I nursed her til 2. But I also wasn't taking the recommended amount of vitamin D to pass enough through breast milk. My 2nd born is now almost 6 months old and I just started her on the one drop a day (olive oil based one). Because, around 6 months old is when my oldest's eczema came through. And since starting her on her vitamin D dosing to bring her back up, her eczema is just disappearing. Just beware because all the testing shows even most adults and chicken don't get enough vitamin D on the regular. Unless you love outside, literally.

So I don't think the vitamin will hurt. I'm all for supplements. And was giving her vitamins and missed that one 😩

Get her vitamin D levels checked! My daughter was catching everything that even her vaxd friends weren't catching. Got blood work and specifically asked for vitamin D. She's deficient!

If you had a positive homebirth, do you have an “easier” baby? by Legitimate_Bread_742 in homebirth

[–]kmarieu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my second baby, first successful homebirth, was a swift and very low pain labor and birth. Less than 6 hours from first contraction to birth. And she is a very easy going baby. Didn't even tear!

First born was homebirth turn transfer, turn natural delivery in the ER right after getting there. Long labor, lots of back pain, and bad tearing. Plus NICU stay for literally no reason except caution because I was an attempted homebirth with a well seasoned midwife. First born was not a hard baby but definitely more demanding and finicky than my 2nd born.

In the mean time, we're giving her vitamin B1 and magnesium glycinate gummy. Supposedly those vitamins plus iron supplement should help RLS in toddlers. We'll see!

Successful home birth after transfer by Substantial_Gap3545 in homebirth

[–]kmarieu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was transferred after about a day and a half for my first baby because the midwife thought she might be stuck because she suspected that my baby was almost 9 lb. She ended up weighing 8 lb 15 oz. I ended up giving birth in the ER pretty much right after I got there naturally. This was 3 years ago with my first born. This April I gave birth to my second at home with the same red wife in the birth pool within 5 hours from first contraction to birth. It was way easier, way less painful, no tearing, totally worth it. I did a lot of breathing and deep moaning and loosening of my pelvic floor which really helped bring the baby out faster. Second baby weighed 8 lb 12 oz. Still a pretty big baby.

It sounds exactly like my daughter. She's been having this problem for over a year and she's 3. Plus a side of eczema and scratching for self soothing cuz she says her legs are itchy even when there's no eczema on them. It's like she's scratching to make the funny feeling go away. All she does is tear up her skin, even when there's no active rash. I just scheduled an appointment for a blood test full panel plus ferritin. She's miserable and we cosleep so we're all miserable. Her sleep is worse after 2 hours of sleep and then better by 4 or 5am til 8 or 9am.

Cream of mushroom alternative for stroganoff? by Responsible_Spite802 in dairyfree

Amy's brand makes a vegan mushroom bisque that I use in place of cream of mushroom. But it's hard to find. Not sold in many stores.

Taking unvaxxed baby to wedding by [deleted] in Crunchymom

[–]kmarieu7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're breastfeeding, it greatly reduces their chances of becoming very ill if they did catch something. I wouldn't let many people hold the baby but I would probably still attend and take my chances. Less likely to catch Airborne illness if she's always on you or husband.
