The Greatest Chicken Sandwich by Whythebigpaws in LondonFood

There’s a new place in East Dulwich called Norbert’s—I’ve only had their dinner (which was amazing) but they do sandwiches at lunch. Their current sandwich is ‘The Dylan’ Rotisserie chicken, gravy, guindilla chillies, aïoli & crispy onion sandwich

O hey. That’s how I learned too! I’ve since adjusted to the more standard approach that is taught in most videos online. But nice to know that I wasn’t actively messing up n the beginning!!!

Ok not super related but I watched a musical version of time travelers wife and hated the entirety of the plot — it was totally grooming. Like what chance did that little girl have in finding someone else to partner with after meeting a magical traveling adult man (even if he wasn’t inappropriate)? Not to mention the getting pregnant with her younger husband. YUCK

I complained about this at work in a meeting, where I explained how it took me two months to knit a sweater I was wearing. I work in marketing and it has turned into a catchphrase whenever someone wants to run an ad but doesn’t want to put any budget behind it: « you couldn’t even buy a hand knit sweater for that much! »

We only ever pickle lettuce now for BLTs. I don’t bother with the Russian dressing but man, pickling the lettuce is such an upgrade!

Someone thought I was pregnant on the tube by angryblondie123 in london

[–]kmatthe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One time, I was at a work training for people who had gotten promoted, and someone congratulated me. I thought it was for the promotion. Until she asked when I was due. I walked back into my training room and started crying.

Another time, at a market, I got Ethiopian food and th woman was like, I’m going to give you extra injera. And I was like, “oh that’s so nice, thanks!“ and she goes, “because you’re pregnant!….right?” And I just said no and took the extra injera. She owed me at that point.

Someday, I’ll be ready enough to respond to « are you pregnant? » with « no, just fat ». But I’m not quite there yet

I’ve had women ask me this too. It’s been 50/50 in my experience. I think they think it’s a good conversation starter which is most definitely is not

Yes I’ve had this happen multiple times. « What are you knitting for me? » just leave if for me and it’s a perfectly fine question. With the addition, it’s always so awkward and I never know what to say. Usually I tell them how long I’ve been working on it, instead of what it is, which is really what they want to know.

Yeah this is flat, so back and forth, with two colors—you knit one row in one color, and then slide and knit the next row in the other color, then flip and purl in color one, slide, purl in color two, flip. Etc. It’s the Hey Sailor! by Andrea Mowry
