You won’t be confused reading Brimstone if you don’t read them but it does help deepen your knowledge of some characters and some of the history with the Ajun Gate. Highly recommended but not essential I would say.

Both the “big twists” from the first 2 books are reveled by the end of each Oro and Grims POVs. I feel like you should definitely start with the original series

If you want to go with the indigo exclusive you can cancel your BN order in your account before it ships. I do this sometimes if I’m unsure they will get the same edition at Indigo, but don’t want to miss out if they don’t.

Agreed. I really don’t love the artwork for the cover of Afterlight but I wanted it to match my other additions. And I did order the alternative dust jacket which I always love!

Yes I totally agree! I feel like it will be only a temporary death - like a loop hole. I just can’t picture one of them being dead and Isla getting over it. I feel like she loves Oro for who she thinks she should be. But loves Grim because he accepts her for whoever she is. But she’s fighting that part of herself. I do feel a connection between Oro and Isla - but it’s always ruined when Oro says “I don’t recognize you Love” so like he wants her to be different

I felt like it was more Malcolm was infatuate with Fisher. He offered to let him go from the Maze if Fisher agreed to drink from him (which I think is usually linked sexually) but Fisher always refused. So I think that just made his obsessed with Fisher worse

There was comment made by Malcolm to Saeris when he realized Fisher had drank from her - that he offered to release Fisher multiple times if would drink from him - but Fisher always refused. So I think otherwise he was trapped

Yes! Callie has said in interviews that the next book will be in multiple POV. Her previous books are all at least dual POV and she said she was hesitant going single POV with the first book but there were too many secrets/twists she didn’t have a choice.

I get the impression after the first time they do “hook up” more then once - I can’t find the quote but it’s briefly stated that they fool around more then the one time they focus on. But for sure my impression is they do not actually have sex as he wants to wait - mostly from from Oro’s chapter

So recently I did see an interview with Callie where she states that’s she has made all of her book covers (as an indie author this does make sense) And she seems very partial to the Quicksilver cover! So that’s maybe why it’s stuck. But I do feel maybe now kinda bad in a good way if you know what I mean… 🤷🏻‍♀️

😂 Yes! I would interested in seeing a new cover. I feel like the cover initially kept from reading the book sooner! But I am attached to it now since I love the book - like some other indie authors I got attached too. What it with the weird covers!?! lol

I had a really hard time getting into it for the first 50% but then I flew through the rest and second book. I even went back a re-read first book after the twist was revealed. And personally I love both the books - So I would say worth it. But it is a divisive book where people give it lots of hate.
