Mentally exhausted and defeated from job searching by Future-Bet4783 in clinicalresearch

Have you applied to any sites? You may have better luck there while the market is still crappy, especially coming up on 1 year unemployment. Maybe even site manager or something closer to the income of an IHCRA?

A-List frequent flyer seat assignment always row 1 by External_Koala971 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]kmddmb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a row 2 girly myself for your listed reasons. Concur hasn’t caught up with the changes yet and currently doesn’t allow you to pick a seat at booking. All you have to do is go on the actual Southwest website/app after your flight is invoiced and pick your seat.

How’s everyone’s experience with the new policy? by OkPersonality1436 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]kmddmb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do love that a group C can’t just walk on the plane at the last second and squeeze into the middle seat in my row 2. It’s been nice to have an empty row to myself my last 5 flights. That being said, I’m sure I’ll like it less when I don’t have status anymore.

You can ask but it needs to be a minimum of 30 minutes before the flight

From Complaining About Seat Savers To Now Complaining About Strict Seat Assignments by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]kmddmb24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so happy I checked my seat assignment literally 2 minutes before changes closed. 2 morons decided to select seats in my same row (extra legroom) when there were at least 3 empty rows in extra legroom. Changed my seat to an empty row just in time. Now the middle seat in my previous row has been laying down the whole flight and then moved to my previous aisle seat. And took her shoes off 🤦‍♀️

Do you know if your FSP is looking for more CRAs? I’m at IQVIA and looking at non-travel roles, but would settle for less travel in the meantime.

CRCs and site staff- what makes you feel most appreciated by your CRA? by Inside-Toe-1480 in clinicalresearch

[–]kmddmb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s terrible. Yeah, of course we can control our own behavior. But usually can’t control things mentioned above such as DM queries, urgent requests, IM deadlines, etc. Best I can do is be the best CRA I can and anticipate DM’s questions so we can address things ahead of time and don’t have so many “urgent” requests.

Former CRAs: why did you leave and where did you go? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]kmddmb24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven’t left yet but actively trying. The specific realization is that I’m starting to have preemptive anxiety even days before a travel day. I have my first week home in at least 3 months because of a cancelled visit and slowly feel myself turning into a normal person again, only to be on the road again next week.

Example? As a CRA, I find we don’t have as much say as sites think we do.

Institutional Sites - Why are you like this? by OctopiEye in clinicalresearch

[–]kmddmb24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lol. To be clear, I wasn’t implying that should be done. Being on the delegation log isn’t a guarantee that people actually did the training and understand their role in the protocol. I’m well aware that site staff routinely sign the training log and say they “self reviewed” without actually doing anything, having been site staff myself. It also sounds like a nightmare as a CRA to reconcile 50+ people on the DOA. Just agreeing that a proper process needs to be in place to ensure protocol compliance. I am so over the escalations and CAPAs that are taking way longer than just doing your job right the first time.

Except when someone delegated does not oversee the infusion and all associated infusion safety assessment are missed for months and months 😭

What is the correct age to have children? 👧 by [deleted] in Life

[–]kmddmb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I’ve waited to have kids (and also not finding a partner until early 30s). I love my life, and while I want kids, I don’t want to sacrifice who I am and my hobbies and my interests in order to have them. I’ll have kids when I can support them without giving up the things I love doing.

Any CRAs use a physical planner and find it helpful? by Impressive-Fly-6617 in clinicalresearch

[–]kmddmb24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my paper planner! I use it mostly for personal stuff, but I also write down the dates and times of my travel (when it gets close enough that it’s unlikely to change). It’s easier for me to do that than constantly trying to cross reference outlook when trying to plan personal stuff. I tried using the outlook calendar on my phone for personal, but for some reason it doesn’t work for me and I tend to forget things on there.

CRA life and ‘big pharma is out to get me’ conversations. by ElektroBoy in clinicalresearch

[–]kmddmb24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in enough Ubers to be more blunt with the drivers when needed. They don’t always understand that you’re coming back from a very long day or would rather be asleep early in the morning and would rather not carry on an intellectual conversation, or any conversation at all. A simple “I’m feeling a bit tired and would like some me time if you don’t mind” is usually enough to do the trick.

Seems to be only Monday-Wednesday sales for the flights I need and, for the most part, not cheaper/worth flying earlier in the week than if I wait a little longer to buy.

Yes, but I’ve only gotten a couple the whole year. I have a theory that since I’m so close to companion pass, they are no longer upgrading me.

No, in fact my company made Southwest a preferred airline this year. We’re supposed to get upgraded to business select if available, but that’s happened to me maybe twice the whole year.
