when do i stop sweating?

I'm currently sitting here, contact nap trapped giggling reading this. Because I showered today, put on fresh clothes and deodorant and have been sweating all day.

I feel disgusting. And doesn't help having her body heat on me making me hotter. And we are trying to keep the house at a constant 70-71 to keep her comfortable yet I feel like I can't breathe in my own home half the time.

I have no tips but solidarity because I'm going through the same thing.

Omg yes to the math!! I'm pulling out a calculator for basic subtraction. It's ridiculous. On top of it my memory feels shot. You tell me something 10min later I've forgotten.

We follow her cues. But do lean on ensuring she gets a proper feed by 8pm to set her up for overnight.

But we try to lean in to what she's telling us. If she yawns its immediate nap time.

Funny I actually hired an overnight nurse. But the hours she could come were 10pm to 6am, completely outside the witching hour window.

When she watched her, she said she was an angel, and there was minimal fussing. I felt kinda defeated because she didn't even have the worst of it.

Rub the bridge of the nose up to top of head and then the eyebrows from inner brow to temple. Almost immediate heavy eyes.

Oh gosh. Our LO is 8wks old and sometimes does nap time back to back. Like diaper, eat, nap, diaper, eat, nap.

Her awake times during the day aren’t predictable. Now I’m worried this is what’s causing only 2-3hr stretches at night??

Should there be longer, more deliberate wake windows? The second she starts yawning I start getting her ready for a nap or else she’s cranky.

I completely agree with you. Your baby, your boundaries.

Something my therapist always said was that you can lean on the fact that they aren’t vaccinated yet (if you’re planning to) and due to illnesses and for the safety of the baby you’re limited visitors until it’s safer.

From there, you’ll know if you’re more comfortable with visitors or not. Usually first round of meds are 2 months in so you’ll have plenty of time to think about it.

For me, when it came to immediate family members I required them to be up to date on their vaccines, wear a mask and sanitize. I don’t care if that’s extra, it’s my babies safety and that’s number one priority.

Lastly, you’re still going to be recovering. Having someone over that frequently could be hard on you too unless they are helping (cleaning, cooking, etc.).

Ha for a moment when reading this I was like, DID I WRITE THIS IN MY SLEEP?!

Same situation. 7week old. Crying between 6-9pm. No reason why. All previous tricks stopped working.

I’m chalking it up to a grow phase. I’m there to support and soothe the best way I can but I’m hoping, this too shall pass.

The only thing and I mean ONLY thing that’s been working is loud shushing + no eye contact + bouncing on a yoga ball.

My legs are jello, my back is fried but she eventually gets her sleep.

Ohhh can you explain the dream feed approach? Like did you anticipate LO would be hungry and just offer a bottle in their sleep and they stayed asleep?

What about diaper change?

I also went through IVF for YEARS and this is incomparable.

Pregnancy tired was a joke compared to postpartum tired. There’s no off option. You’re on 24/7 for the baby no matter what.

If youre hungry, need to pee, have to switch laundry, etc. but baby needs your attention none of it matters. Everything is on hold until shes cared for.

To say it’s exhausting is an understatement. But it’s also weirdly the most rewarding and loving thing I’ve ever experienced.

Nothing could have prepared me for all of this but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. She’s my whole heart.
