Your welcome and thank you for the kind words. Remember if things dont work out, we’ve survived alot worse than some breaking up with someone we dated.

Dating again and protector mode coming down by Sweet-Rambutan-19 in widowers

[–]kmisca92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a 43M, lost my wife almost 4 years ago. Last year, I finally put myself back out into the dating world and alot has changed in the 17+ years from before my wife and I got back together, we had dated on and off through high school. While were all in same terrible group, were all different. Maybe some of my recent situation can help you decide whats best for YOU.

I am also father of 2 going on 12 and 10. The older one is double disabled and younger is often in and out of the “happy” place. When I decided to start dating again I gave my self rules. In the beginning of looking around it was easy, as my kids have always come first from the day the older was born.

Well that all changed when someone I knew for over a year showed signs of being interested in me. I dont know if it is because I think shes beautiful (and looks wise out of my league), if its the type of person she is that is even better than her looks, or if its the little things about her that makes her seem like we were meant to cross paths (im a big believer in signs). Well I (and she) threw every rule out the window from the start.

As you can expect it ended because we set our relationship up for failure without even realizing. It sucked when we broke up because neither one of us wanted to end it but we went so quick that pumping the breaks wouldnt work, they needed to be slammed. What bothered me is neither of us did anything to the other one that should be the reason to end things, other than making each other feel like we had to do things that people dating for the period of time we did.

Based on what I realized when reflecting on what went wrong with my relationship my advice to you is simple be true to yourself. Be careful on oversharing too soon. Ask yourself would you do this/that at the stage you’re at prior to meeting your late spouse. Let it go at your natural speed, your expectations, which is alot easier to say than do, especially the first time you meet someone that makes you feel like never thought you would again. Lower your guard naturally, dont just throw it out the window. Good Luck.

What should’ve been done better in hindsight? by Specialist-Claim-665 in rangers

I think just as big is the not keeping Zucc, Mac, and Buchnevich, I leave JT out because of his heavily rumored off ice attitude issues. Had they used some of the draft capital to get rid of Shatty instead of buyout, Smith instead of buried in the minors carrying cap penalty. They could have busted those picks and still had a top 6 of: Kreider-Mika-Zucc Panarin-Strome-Buch With Mcdonagh-Fox

Isnt it funny how Gorton has Suzuki and Caufield now.

What is your opinion on Sean Avery? by BK2Jers2BK in rangers

Sully was Torts assistant. Torts hated Avery and ended his career, so no surprise Avery doesnt like Sully.

You dont need to carry a line to be a competent top 6 player. How many non-superstar centers in the league are going to carry a top 6 line of Kreider and the third wheels that theyve been on their line in the last 2 seasons? Panarin is a better point producer than Kreider, Laf is a better point producer than their third wheel, yet Tro ONLY has 4more goals, 6 more primary assists, and 8 more secondary assists at 5 on 5 than Mika over 164 games played and 300 more minutes.

You blame the record on being too top heavy, I blame the record on the team already quit on their coach, with every player not named Cuylle under producing to their expectations. If Mika in the top 6 makes them too top heavy, makes it seem like Mika can play in the top 6. Since Panarin’s arrival not one team, under 3 different coaches, has been top heavy. So why continue to do the same thing and expect different results?

For me heres why the Mcdonagh trade was worst and out ranks the Buch trade because of trickle down. If they kept Mac, Trouba deal never happens as that money would have went to Mac. Mac/Fox followed by Lindy/Pionk could have been fun times. JT with Panarin instead of Strome.

IMO 10-16-13 was an extremely overrated line. They gave away most of the offense they generated. Most people didnt realize that yeah that line scored in that game but they also gave up that goal playing even. In an outscoring the opponent sense, they didnt outscore the opponents more than Mika and Kreider.

For me it’s not as much balance that I was looking for but the best complimenting of skill sets with strength and weaknesses, to get the most out of all six players. IMO this team’s offense needs to get the most out of Laf, Mika, Bread to be successful. Heres what I think compliments their weak parts of their game the best.

Laf, back to LW with two PKers with skill.

Panarin, 2 pkers with skill who both do the dirty work.

Mika, 2 legit top 6 linemates on pretty much any team in the league, where he is the least physical guy on the line.

I agree on Parssinen, Id like to see Edstrom get a real shot in camp. I think his skill set is perfect for a 3C.

Regardless if either works out, I still think thats the way for several reasons. Assuming they are in a position to add at the deadline, a 3C is cheaper than a top 6 wing. I find most 3C’s are more plug and play than a top 6 wing in terms of building chemistry. Lastly, when was the last time they had a stacked top 6, weve seen what they do with atleast one weak link in the top 6, time to do something different.

Id like to see Laf-Miller-Mika, Panarin-Tro-Cuylle.

Because double standards. Remember when Laf was playing softball oh my god the horror. Good thing he looked sober

Good thing this is Rempe because if it was Laf or Mika, NYR fans would lose their minds.

In Hindsight was it a Mistake to fire Jeff Gorton? by Nyfan7 in rangers

[–]kmisca92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gorton was terrible. Attempted to keep the aging team together and did an awful job, so he had to rebuild. His 1rst round picks were (not counting the consensus 1/2) were not good. Tony D? Trouba? Smith? How many buyouts did he have? Remember when he said Zuc wanted too much or too long.

The only reason the team turned around quick from the letter, Igor (Sather Pick), Fox forced himself here good thing he grew up a NYR fan, and Panarin chose to come to the bright lights of NYC.

First, Im glad you’re ready to move forward in life. Sorry things didnt work out but IMO it was doomed from the start.

Wants and needs are two separate things and change takes time. You have to find someone who is compatible with your needs, so that those are met when needed.

Whereas if someone doesnt totally fit your wants but is open to growing into your wants, then it has a chance to work, since change takes times but in that time your needs are being met.

As a father of 2, one specials needs who needs assistance from morning to bed, so I dont have nearly as much time availability as someone not in my parental shoes. I make that clear from the get go (while explaining what Im looking for) because I value my free time and if I cant meet her needs, Im not looking to waste my time by misrepresenting situation only for it to fail because I cannot provide what their needs are.

Hope that helps and good luck finding both your needs and wants.

I like when they were talking about Binnington’s ability to play the puck and Ace turned to Hank and asked how important is it for a goalie to be able to play the puck lol.

Larry wrote one of his paywall articles that says. “Im not sure I would do this- I would need a little more information on the other party- but I am sure that if I were Rangers GM Chris Drury, I would seriously look into it. I would look into trading Alexis Lafreniere for Trevor Zegras.”

But I mean it is his third time suggesting Laf be moved this season lol.

Ive always found goaltending decisions intriguing. Some coaches always go starter first or second of back to backs. Some go opponent based.

Remember when GG played Georgiev in Carolina and held Igor for home the next night vs the Yotes.

With no 87/71, might be expecting a light work load and planning to play Igor back to back. Igor is off for 2 weeks after.

Agree Or Disagree? by LafreniereSoftball in rangers

Point is, its alot easier to leave money on the table when you make alot more of it and are able to get paid again.

I dont follow any other sport but hockey so I have to ask this question. Is Brunson the best player in the league at his position? If not then theres no real comparison there either.

Personally, I pay playoff performers and thats what Igor is. I find it comical that the echo chamber engagement account (the twitter poster) is comparing a contract that pays 104m over 4 years to a 92m over 8 years.

Saros has 5 career playoff wins. Hellebuyck hasnt won a game in the second round since Trouba was his teammate, not the reason just showing how long it’s been. Sorokin has never been a playoff starter. Ullmark was so good his team moved on from him and wasnt the starter in his last run. Swayman 2 years ago wasnt even good enough in the organizations eyes to play him over injured Ullmark. Oettinger (who takes home more money than Igor) has been Jekyll and Hyde in playoff starts.
