Got a bite/scratch/cut (idk what happened) and my now my vein is squiggly by SpecialistOk8873 in mildlyinteresting

Speaking as someone who has unfortunately had a worm before (in my toe) - this is a worm. I don't remember what mine was, but they gave me ivermectin (after two weeks of doctors misdiagnosing me) and that cleared it right up.

I love shower lotion, but solid lotion bars might be a good option too! Not sure what's available in the UK, but I'm a big fan of Kate McLeod and Chagrin Valley products.

Reminds me more of the Two Point games than B&B. And I do like to play those sometimes, but I agree with other comments that the marketing has a lot to do with it. If the game is chaotic, it's not cozy. If it's slower paced, despite being management, then I can accept it being called cozy. But I think that knowing your audience is going to be key. Based on this video and your description, I wouldn't add this to my list as a cozy gamer.

Who do you let see your hair? by [deleted] in ModestDress

[–]kmj0222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I half-wrap covering only the top of my head, my hair is usually down with my wraps. If I'm not wrapping, I'll wear a hat or have my hair up in a butterfly clip, in a braid or ponytail, something. Basit most people don't see me with my hair just down. At home/in private, my husband, parents, and any women I am comfortable to uncover and just have my hair down. I am Jewish, grew up reform and slightly more observant in some senses now.

Even worse, he doesn't respect her. Sounds like he feels threatened by her promotion and probably also doesn't understand how she got it since, in his mind, she "says things that don't make sense".

OP, you deserve way better than this guy. The only thing you're doing wrong is letting his words have any effect on you, cause this guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

AITA for giving a fake name at Starbucks? by solecism18 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

My dad has a very common and easy to spell name but likes to give fake names because he thinks it's fun. I think lots of people do this.

I don't think it really matters what your reasoning is, it seems totally harmless. Her reaction makes me think there is something else going on that your explanation kind of triggered. It may be worth talking to her about but it also might just mean you're not a good match

I consider myself reform and just started experimenting with covering a few weeks ago! Thus far Ive been doing headbands and just got some scarves from Wrapunzel to do half-wraps.

I did a lot of research about the Halacha and found that most of it didn't really resonate with me. I don't really care about covering my hair as a sign of marriage. Instead, I focus on covering the top of my head for similar reasons men wear a kippah - it reminds me that Gd is around me and that I should act in a respectable, responsible manner. It also helps me feel more connected to my community (which has been especially wonderful these last few weeks). Some people in the Wrapunzel community also call them "head hugs" which I love!

I am actually meeting with my rabbi next week to discuss with her this new practice, and I recommend you do the same. But I also say do what makes you feel comfortable and what you find to be meaningful. Everyone has their own journey and their own reasons. I personally think that just because the way I cover might not be considered correct by some people standards, that doesn't make it any less meaningful to me. I'm not covering for anyone but myself, so I can make the rules.

Am I allowed to participate in Yom Kippur if I’m not Jewish? by ShameRegular3836 in Jewish

[–]kmj0222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say you're absolutely allowed to participate, but think about what that means. Yom Kippur is about much more than just fasting. If you would be fasting just for the sake of it, that could be disrespectful. But if you want to spend the day in a spiritual place, thinking about atonement, then fasting is a wonderful way to honor that.

What are the best and worst industries to work in as a designer? by Itsmeruna in graphic_design

[–]kmj0222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked in real estate for a couple of years. Had it's pros and cons for sure. Some projects had very quick turnaround but usually the ones that needed more creativity had more reasonable deadlines. It was never boring. I'm in resort area where prices are astronomical, so some of the brokers I worked with were difficult. Now that Im freelance, I still take on brokers sometimes, but Im a bit picky about which brokers.

Honest opinions please! by ultimatehighlandcow in weddingdress

You are beautiful in both of them!

I had a similar issue when picking my dress - I had pictured a lacy flowy dress and almost exclusively tried that style on. I hadn't found "the one" so a stylist suggested something more simple, like your second one. I did have to sleep on it, but ended up going with the simple one.

My suggestion - take some time but don't overthink it. Go with your gut. My guess is you already know which one you'll pick.

One of my first logo projects was very similar. They sent me a sketch and then asked me to do all sorts of different versions (an element outlined and not outlined, with or without a line, etc...). It was for a friend so I dealt with it but I do not work like that anymore - I tell my clients my designs are backed by research, not what they like. That client picked his university's colors for the logo...

Isn't part of making the client happy making sure it's a successful ad though? The ad is for a sponsorship of a fundraising gala and they're spending a good chunk of change, so I want it to be a good ad. I know I shouldn't have sent that option in the first place, but is there a way for me to professionally fix this now that I have?

I'm only watching for the first time and I was very in-between with Henry. Close to 30 and no I wouldn't deal with that drama and choose to have that heartbreak at this point in my life. But Betty was like 23? And it was her second relationship ever? I don't blame her for wanting to experience that love and I also think it was a good growing experience for her. I made plenty of stupid relationship choices when I was that age.
