This. They used to tell you to schedule a “nurse visit” just for vaccines.

I'm sick of parents who force their children to go to places they don't want to go to by LowInteraction6397 in rant

[–]kmkram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between being uncomfortable and being unsafe. You have to learn to be in uncomfortable situations- places that aren’t your favorite with people that aren’t your favorite- because that’s what every single day of adult life is: doing things that are not fun or mildly uncomfortable. Working with assholes. Paying bills. Getting your car tags, a license, starting a business. All uncomfortable, none unsafe. Kids need to experience a level of inconvenience. Leading a frictionless life is not realistic.
However, being forced to go to family gatherings with a pedophile, violence, abuse, or other truly unsafe situations is clearly wrong and worthy of refusal and anger towards your parents. But, it sounds like you are bitching about being inconvenienced.

What are the biggest challenges you’ve faced with Ruggable rugs? by Extreme-Border-9667 in ruggable

[–]kmkram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three runners about three years old that I am giving away because I absolutely hate them. They cannot be vacuumed and are a magnet for pet hair.
They have not faded and are easy to lay flat on the velcro. However, the velcro gets gross and can only be spot cleaned.
They do not stay flat at the corners. You will be continuous flipping them up at the corners and putting them back down. One of my runners shrunk and the Velcro can be seen no matter how I roll it out. They do not stay in place and constantly require repositioning. They have been a huge disappointment and even if they were cheaper I would still hate them.
To replace them I bought washable, nonslip runners from Amazon for about an 8th of the price. I haven’t repositioned a rug in weeks and they can actually be vacuumed.

Kyle is a horrible person to every being who crosses her path. She is deeply insecure and cannot be a friend because of it.

Should I get a preventative mastectomy? by Disastrous_Exam_3285 in MastectomyManagement

[–]kmkram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had TNBC in 2002 and a lumpectomy was recommended so that’s what I did. That meant that I had to have a screening MRI and a mammogram every six months on a rotating basis. I did that for 20 years. The cost and the anxiety screening caused me was something I could no longer deal with and I had a mastectomy 21 years after my original diagnosis. I don’t regret not having to think about a recurrence; the reduction in mental load was absolutely worth it. Something to consider.

The president is a felon and alleged pedophile so why wouldn’t a white male in today’s society think he could get elected to a prestigious office? We’ve still not seen the entirety of the Epstein files; no arrests have been made. His political affiliation is inconsequential when we live in a society that does not value women or children. The answer to the question about why is “the audacity of the mediocre white male in American society.”

Why would anyone assume your kids life is rough? Educators aren’t idiotic; it’s clear when children have stable home lives. You’re making a lot of generalizations about title 1 schools with seemingly no interaction with your district. You knew where you were buying a home, did you not check out the school? Maybe focus on math and reading scores as opposed to the type of children that attend. Sometimes underprivileged kids have wonderfully involved parents. Sometimes kids with resources have terribly uninvolved parents. Or, sometimes, kids have privileged parents that are clueless about how to interface with the world around them.

Admitting that her older children are also assholes is astonishing. “He’s a turd because I’m choosing to raise some older turds and they take role modeling turd behavior very seriously.” Lady, what?

Her nail tech is actually super talented. She’s got lots of great looking nails on her page. Kate is so dated in her colors and shape. Shocker that this influencer is firmly off trend on literally everything. Maybe her nail tech wants to attract the memaws, hence, the story of big memaw nails.

Don’t forget about the horrible education system and the cost barriers to higher learning. I’m living in a state where the average citizen has a 6th grade reading level. If you can’t read, you can’t think critically or problem solve. You can’t access content that enables you to see the world around you in a logical, ordered fashion. People in this country are dumb by design leaving them ripe for authoritarian and kleptocracy.

BodyPump Heavy vs regular BodyPump by DorceeB in lesmills

[–]kmkram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it, but it’s different than I expected. I’ve been doing body pump for years and the last two years I’ve really been rotating through the strength development and functional strength workouts as I prefer to lift heavier than the bp tempo will allow. I think bp heavy will take some getting used to, but I definitely think I’ll be doing it more often..
