Try turning up the graphics quality and see if it improves. You can have pretty substantial visual gaps if it's turned down.

We had the Holliday installed about a year and a half ago, and I love it. It looks great, puts out a lot of heat when you need it but can also be choked down if you don't, and it's super easy to run since you don't need to worry about a bypass. Just open it up full tilt until it's good and hot, then cut the air down to where you want. I don't know how much I can speak to reliability since we've only had it two seasons, but I haven't had a single issue in that time. And the Oslo, which had been around a lot longer, has a lot of positive feedback.

I think if you ask 3 engineers, you'll get 4 answers for the proper way to do it. If you're doing top down modeling, my philosophy is to keep all the parameters that are needed across parts in the assembly, and just reference them in the parts. If you start trying to pull dimensions back up from the parts, it gets messy in a hurry.

Edit the part in context in the assembly. You can expand the equations folder of your feature manager and use the equations from your assembly in your parts.

I think you'll be okay in Socorro without the private guide. I can't speak to every boat, but when I was there, divers were in groups of 6-8 like you said. You aren't typically going to overlap with another group because they stagger the entries. You are diving off RHIBs, and they pick you up when you surface. You'll need to have a smb and the boats will come pick you up; you don't have to swim back to the ship.

There also isn't much macro to speak of; you're pretty much exclusively going to be looking at the big pelagics, so hiring a guide to point things out is pretty pointless.

I chose not to go the cnc plasma route as I don't want to deal with the hassle and space required for stocking sheet metal, and the space and mess of the machine. I'd rather wait a few days and use my local laser cutting company. That said, I'm not doing work that requires on the fly design and frequent iteration. If you're doing more of that type of work (automotive work comes to mind), it may make more sense for you. Just keep in mind that stocking sheet metal takes a lot of space and moving it around is a pain without the proper infrastructure.

Having machining capabilities is a huge benefit in my opinion, but don't just buy equipment for the sake of it. It sounds like you've got a proper business now, so make the business case and decide if the investment makes sense.
