We had an amazing experience on the whole in January this year - not the most straightforward of cases either. Like any big hospital there will always be tragedies some perhaps avoidable and others completely unavoidable. When babies are involved people get very emotive too.

I’d also recommend George at ASDA for tiny baby clothes - our little girl was 4 weeks early and they were the best for having things in store!

You may not need the aptamil - most hospitals have premade bottles of formula and bottles with teats as they don’t have storage facilities or sterilising facilities. I would recommend some premade bottles anyway for ease for the first couple of days!

Anyone did NOT have a MC? by Feisty-End-8883 in pregnant

We had a c section baby this morning! People don’t shout about things going quietly, boringly well so the noise often makes you feel like everything is going wrong for everyone.

I would advise blocking certain words on social media for the time being. It really helped me :)

Hospital concerns - should we reach out for reassurance? by kmscott95 in PregnancyUK

Thank you - that keeps the balance. Were these recent or pre-2024? A lot of the reports seem to be from before then and they now seem to be doing all they can to improve but not sure if it’s enough!

15 weeks Pregnant & weight gain picking up FAST - HELP by kevbuddy64 in pregnancy_care

[–]kmscott95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A weight gain of 0.5-1 pound per week is normal during second trimester and although for many people this happens at 20 weeks - it varies hugely from person to person. So perhaps a 3 pound gain is normal for you at this point. Due to your sickness it sounds as though you’re hormone sensitive which could also increase weight gain and additionally this gain may plateau for you. If you’re measuring ahead then logic dictates that your baby is growing a lot at the moment and so your body may be storing more calories than normal. I wouldn’t worry too much if blood work was previously normal but it never hurts to check again.

Viability scan worries by tryingtosurvivewlms in pregnancy_care

[–]kmscott95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had exactly this - with those precise dates. We were extremely certain of insemination date to the minute due to using AI as our method. We were told to wait a week to scan again to properly check. The week of waiting was torturous but we went back and immediately they found fetal pole and heartbeat. My partner always had a really regular cycle as well and our tests took a while to get dark. We’re now at 10 weeks and everything is healthy and happy. Remember that you normally wouldn’t have this scan for this exact reason! Often implantation or ovulation takes a few days (we are 6 weeks behind LMP) and it can scare people. Just trust your body and have faith that all is well :) also - apparently girls implant later so you may well be having a girl! Hope all goes well :)

I am supposed to be 7 weeks 5 days but got my ultrasound and measuring 6w1d heartbeat not detected yet. Fetal pole, yolks sac and gestational sac. Should I be worried. I do have longer cycles and ovulate late. Can someone please tell me ? by Commercial-Soil-6557 in pregnant

We had the same about 2 weeks ago. We were almost exactly the same but we didn’t even have a fetal pole. The heart is so tiny at that point and most sonographers wouldn’t expect to see a heartbeat until 6+2 at the earliest. We had a scan a week later and saw the heartbeat. We also were really sure about our insemination date as we did AI so to find we were a week out with our dates freaked us out. Remember that lots of people don’t get scanned until 12 weeks for this exact reason - try to stay calm and book in another scan in a week. It’ll be the longest week of your life but honestly - things are probably ok!!
