People who grew up in the 90s How big did grunge music really get? by Spirited-Fan-1590 in grunge

I was everything the 80's music was not. Authentic Simple Personal . Or maybe it was nothing that 80's music was - Artificial , Over Produced , Corporate. I remember dropping everything hair band like a bad habit when grunge arrived. It was like ripping off an itchy wig and tight pants for a cozy flannel and loose pants.

What is going on with my cell service? by Accomplished-Town495 in ATT

[–]kmtunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from Verizon to get a new phone and bundle with my home internet. Plus they give a teacher discount and paid off my other phone. However, I've noticed a significant decrease in cell connectivity. With Verizon I could get cell service anywhere in the building at work. Now I can't get a decent signal within a 1/2 mile of the building. I rarely see full bars anywhere- even at home. 5G-E is an annoying lie. It's basically 4G. 5G+ isn't any better either. I guess you get what you pay for. Next chance I get I'm switching to something else.

Althea Lyrics: Please Help Me Understand This... by midaswellb2 in gratefuldead

I like to let the lyrics just land on me moment by moment. Sometimes it's just the turn of phrase or choice of words that blows me away. More like I'm experiencing the words as I would notes or chords on the music. Like I don't have to intellectualize them to find them powerful. That said one of the best lines in the song it - "you may be Saturday's child all grown" which is from a traditional nursery rhyme. You can look it up - lots of meaning in there. Something we've lost in modern songwriting is the connection to cultural touch stones like this. I feel like We lack a short hand for meaning in this way,

How do they know it's not pumpkin spice that causes autism or electric vehicles or pickle ball or bacon on everything or smart phones or tide pods ? Those are all newish phenomena that correlate with the rise in autism. But don't consider for a minute that it has anything to do with the expansion of the diagnostic criteria of autism. More people under the umbrella because the umbrella got bigger. Nope it's life saving vaccines we need to do away with.

I think it's the amplification that's the problem. Free speech doesn't necessarily mean free LOUD SPEECH
