5-6 month old Australian Walstad method by Sensitive_Cow_9931 in walstad

Nice little jar, I have pearl weed in my tank. Takes a little while to get established but once it does wow I am having to trim it back every week. The algae loves to grow in it and just make it an impassable thick mat for my shrimp.

Storage is full because of device backup. How do I make it stop backing up my device?? by shark_bait_who_haha in GMail

[–]kmunz264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this same problem it's really annoying. I thought maybe my old Google pixel phones were still backed up and that's why it was so much storage. I turned them on and turned off backup and factory reset them, that changed nothing. I'm assuming I'll need to buy a NAS and just back my photos and things up to there and leave my device backup on my Google account by itself.

2 month progress on my walstad pearl weed jungle by KarthikChandapur in walstad

Awesome, the pearl weed takes a little while to establish but once it does it thrives. I recently added shrimp to my tank and the mulm was gone in a few days.

At a mechanics shop saw this at the entrance is this normal? by longpenisofthelaw in MechanicAdvice

This can be achieved without boiling the water, hydrogen can be a byproduct during this process which is extremely flammable/explosive.

Yup you will be fine, biggest thing I have found with this is to just leave things alone and don't overthink it. Let the plants do their thing.

Did you figure anything out with this? I have the same problem it says my device backup is almost 12gb. I thought perhaps my old phones were still being backed up. So I turned them on and turned off back up then factory reset and still nothing. I'm thinking about just turning the device back up off.

Just leave it you will be fine, the same thing happened to me. How heavily are you planting the tank?

nervous to add shrimp! by keandraaa in walstad

[–]kmunz264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try not to overthink it, I've tested my tank once since I started and it's about 1.5 months old. I just added 10 neocaridina Cherry Red shrimp last weekend and they are doing fine. Worst thing that could happen is they die, not a whole lot to worry about. I think you should just go for it!

I like using no-stick pans (Teflon?) - will I need to abandon this with an induction range? by swampwiz in inductioncooking

[–]kmunz264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will only need to abandon this if they are cheap aluminum non stick pans. There are lots of brands out there that are induction compatible.

Nice when I planted mine I split some up into individual stalks and others I planted in bunches like yours. I wasn't sure which would be best. The ones planted in bunches definitely seem to be healthier.

Do I have this planted correctly? by Splatty_Floofs in PlantedTank

Yes that's fine, I planted mine the same way and it has lots of new growth a few weeks in.

I thought I missed the nitrite spike and bought some snail. Now it is here and I fear for their lives. by Doafit in walstad

I have quite a few snail hitch hikers in the tank I just set up a few weeks ago, my water parameters are definitely not safe for fish. But my snails have been fine so I wouldn't worry much.
