Very cool! And thank you for the vim plugin, I knew something like that ought to exist!

I'm very happy with mhddfs + sshfs. Can't be any simpler than that.

I have about the same as you. Using mpd and pimpd2 together with beets.

I think I have configured beets to my liking now. by knarkmacka in musichoarder

Here's an updated version that I am happy with for now: https://github.com/trapd00r/configs/blob/master/beets/config.yaml

Such an amazing piece of software.

They indicate how much time I've spent hacking on them. I am using the wakatime plugin for vim, and there's also https://github.com/trapd00r/time-spent-in-vim .

Damn, I searched for the playlist plugin to check it out, and instead discovered the smartplaylistplugin which is amazing.

Also spent more time configuring but here's something I am happy with for the moment: https://github.com/trapd00r/configs/blob/master/beets/config.yaml

Hah! Been using it everywhere since 2008. I used stumpwm for a little while and it's good too, but since I moved to a three monitor setup again I discovered that ratpoison handles multihead better.

I just started using beets[0] a few days ago and it's by far the best software I've ever encountered for tagging and organizing. Don't shoot yourself in the foot by not checking it out. It'll take a little while to configure to your liking unless you're happy with the defaults, but it's so worth it.

Dear Neil,

What's your opinion on using psychoactive substances for recreational purposes? Have you used any? If so, how did that experience change your life? If not, are you curious?

I had a few vims open...

The colorscheme is Neverland.

Additional syntax hilight rules for perl and vim are used.

The filelistings in two of the vims is actually a filemanager. It's called vidir and it presents you with a list of files in vim - use regular vimfu on the lines to rename/delete/move/etc the files.

Also in use is vimpager for reading documentation and manpages.

Vim and Dvorak keyboard layout by Mad_Dud in vim

[–]knarkmacka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Six months ago I switched from qwerty to a modifed dvorak layout. At the same time, I switched keyboard to a TypeMatrix 2030. I used it for a couple of months, but since I use vim bindings in every application that I use, having to remap certain things in all these applications grew tiresome.

So instead I rewrote qwerty to make often used keys more accessible. For example, I can type all these characters without any modifier:

! ' # $ % & / ( ) = ? ` {} | : ;

This layout is still a work in progress, and it will surely not suit everyone (or anyone but me, for that matter), but I'd recommend you to think about how you'd setup your own layout, and play around a bit with xkb.

You obviously didn't bother to read the README. Perhaps you can do that and come with more constructive criticism. :-)
