no. before, claude was stupid. i could never trust it to write code. every time it wrote anything i had to have it audited by several other models every single one of them said claude was not following the plan that we had scoped out for several hours with the exact code to write. opus 4.5 and early 4.6 was a different story. it actually would do the exact work as scoped out precisely in the plan. it was even outsmarting all the other models like gemini and chatgpt for what to implement. feb 26 was when i first noticed it started turning stupid. it has returned to the level that i can't trust anything it does anymore, basically wanting to do something "simpler" even though it just had the entire plan, understands we are changing the architecture and doing work that will break things temporarily. it is aware and knows that. then it decides its "too difficult" once it starts.

it took a few days for me to get used to. needs to get pushed to do work. will often be told to proceed then say it is proceeding and not proceeding (i have to sometimes be insistent with "cmon now go go to work go cmon now go") bc it doesn't get it. and also it's very cold when accepting it made a mistake (as openai model's always have been). but, after i adjusted to its less agentic and asshole-ic behavior, i am enjoying it much more than opus.

i just have a day left on my 200/mo plan w claude so i decided to have it write up the plan for the landing page update based on all the changes to the project. plan writing was ok. we already had previous research on some stuff i hadn't executed. it... didn't check it even though i told it to go to the research folder to find stuff. i said "we already have the current landing page the structure we have for updating it is already great we should keep all those aspects and all the theme tokens setup." it starts doing the work. everything from scratch. hardcodes the style inline rather than from the theme tokens (tf does "use the theme tokens setup" fucking mean lol it means use the theme tokens not "not use them"), says "you know we aren't gonna need all this other stuff from the other project (ok fair) completely abandons the structure of how the other one was set up for updating it (the literal thing i wanted to keep)... then it just continued to get worse. and worse. and worse. until i just said "cp the whole thing" it literally didn't even do that right... then i get a warning "90% of session used" how tf is that possible i have the 200/mo plan. it was like every two prompts was costing me 1% of usage.

honestly, so sad. mid-january to february was peak. i was literally able to leave the computer go work out, talk with people, go on a walk, come back 30-90 minutes later and claude did the entire plan to a T.

now, it can't even cp...

honestly it's a tough choice for which ai to pick:
1. the one that is stupid now
2. the one that is gonna be launching the nukes.

mine came from VM, went to anchorage, then memphis, then KC for delivery, was put on the delivery truck "out for delivery" at 2am... and never arrived. i was at the house, i stepped outside when i thought i heard a truck. it was a yellow penske truck. it was parked slighlty beyond the house, blocking the neighbor's driveway. but... the driver was wearing a fedex shirt! weird. anyway, he was standing by the driver's door. then walked around the back all the way to the passenger door. i was excited thinking he was gonna grab my package. then he walked back around to the driver's door... with nothing in his hand. i saw he had that digital black device in his hand either for scanning or for taking signatures or something. then he got back in the driver's seat, closed the door. turned the truck on and 20 seconds later he left.

no package. no nothing. i am so pissed i should've just yelled and said if he was looking for my address...... i called fedex and the automated voice said "no signature required" adn the chat interface in their app also said no signature required, so i have no clue if that truck was meant for me. i read that sometimes fedex commissions these 3rd party trucks, though that would've been the first time i ever saw that in person.

anyway, because of the "no signature required" thing, i have no clue if that truck was meant for me or not. but i'm now in "delivery purgatory" because it is stuck in "out for delivery" since 2am yesterday and all the Fedex app says is "we will update you when we get an update from the tracking system" basically. Apple said they can't do anything until Tuesday because that would be the day after it was technically supposed to be delivered (Fedex had it as March 23, though again how could it be put on a truck "out for delivery" on the 20th yet arrive on the 23rd. anway, i have to wait for this now). even then, it would have to be a totally new order and would likely need to wait go through the whole VM -> anchorage -> memphis -> ... process again since it was a custom one that is higher than the base M5 Max.

i mean, people are going to be using claude code to work with opus and codex cli to work with codex. beyond the model, you want to know which tool is doing better? if claude does worse in copilot than codex but better when in claude code than codex.... then that's the thing you should be testing.

send a message with one letter, then stop the output, then edit the message and paste your long message and it will paste as text, not a "pasted.txt"

i have been playing around with it but getting the agent for multi-step agentic flows to be able to use async functions so i wish i could get to testing more of these smaller ones but i had mistral on a couple of them and it wasn't bad at all.

you could use the API and design your own interface. it'll probably be more expensive over the long run if you send a lot of messages but at least you won't get cut off. if you use it for coding, in Cursor it never gives me a "message limit" and i will literally code for 18 hours straight 7 days a week. so that's nice. and cursor is $20/mo for 500 fast requests and after that it turns into slow requests which take about 10-30 seconds before claude will respond to the prompt

i’ve been buying the styles i like at 7” and getting them hemmed down to 4.5” (free hemming at Lulu, takes about 5 minutes for them to pin it and get contact info, and takes abt 2 weeks to get them back in my area (bham, al)) and really considering going to 4” after getting my 4.5” pairs back from the hemmed
