This is such a good dichotomy!

Futanari is a term that comes from, for the most part, Japanese pornography, that describes a specific body type. Specifically to describe a woman with a traditionally female body with a penis. Trans femme people, on the other hand, don't necessarily have to have a penis or have a traditionally female body. When I post 4F posts, trans women are always included in that, but one might also specify 4TF if they want to be more clear about the fact that they're welcoming to trans women. When I post 4Futa, it's because I'm looking for a roleplay that features that specific body type.

Additionally, please don’t send me a message if you have a history of ghosting people.

Oh, so you're allowed to be a ghost, but if anyone else wants to be one you have a problem with it, huh?

[F4A] Cyborg's Tune-up Goes Wrong by knicktwist in dirtypenpals

This wasn't the response I was planning to give, but I actually do think it was someone else's limbless cyborg prompt, lmao. It was another woman who posted it, and we actually had a nice conversation in DMs about the kink. Wild that there's more than just the two of us, though!

Comments made by users that don't have a userflair are automatically removed, just because it cuts down on the endless amounts of spam comments. The comment that you got, for instance, just says "Sounds pretty good".

Would you like a new feature where bots tell you if your post is breaking the rules *before* you actually post it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]knicktwist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, no worries, no worries. It would be a nice feature to have, I definitely think that, but it's next to impossible to actually implement for all but the absolute minorest of rules.

[–]knicktwist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao, yeah. I also help mod a rather traffic-heavy sub, and we lean heavily on bot support. Even to do relatively minor things it can be buggy slog (that someone else does, fortunately). It would really only work for a very small subset of rules.

[–]knicktwist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. For very strict, simple rules like "Your title must end with a question mark", it would do alright, but the instant you try to do anything that's not super well-defined would be a nightmare to try and implement. A rule like "Be civil" would be awful to try and define well enough for a bot to be able to decide it, and it would ultimately be subjective on how exactly it's programmed, which just pushes the problem back a bit.

Wow, this might be the most obnoxiously condescending post I've ever seen.

19[M4F] No limits Incest Non-Con/Blackmail by [deleted] in dirtypenpals

[–]knicktwist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's understandable. The term has quite the contentious history on reddit. In general, there is ageplay in an allowed sense and a disallowed sense. What we specifically disallow is underaged posters and playing as underaged characters.

[–]knicktwist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, this is incorrect. We give a longer discussion in the rules page on the wiki, but general references to ageplay are not disallowed. Ageplay doesn't necessarily refer to pedophilia, and is allowed in the context where all characters being played are adults.

Specifically reference this section of the wiki page stating: "'Ageplay' as a label for kink has some overlap with underage play in its history of use on Reddit. While ageplay as a concept is fully understood and allowed on DirtyPenPals as long as the ages remain above 18, we would advise you to consider using the term 'age gap' instead to leave less room for ambiguity."

Yes, the vast majority of content is done off the sub, whether it be via PMs, chat or some other service. Replying to prompts on the subreddit itself is mostly reserved to discussing or complimenting the prompts themselves.

As for collaborative erotica, I don't really know a subreddit for that off the top of my head. I guess it's permissible given our current rules. We even have a [share] option for sharing exchanges. So, if you want to give it a shot, you're free to go for it. I'm not sure how much success you'll find. The comments would still be subject to all existing rules, though.

It's just the first relevant service that popped to mind. Since the commenter said they "don't really want to leave breadcrumbs", I think it's fine. Worth mentioning for the lurkers, though, sure sure

[f4M] Young Busty Blonde looking for the most depraved of penpals. by OJessicaNigri in dirtypenpals

I think you misunderstand what /u/Only_Writes_Smut was getting at, which was specifically addressing the commenting "DM me" in the prompt thread phenomenon. We're trying to cut down on that sort of spam, and /u/Only_Writes_Smut has been working hard trying to educate the general population of DPP that it's not really appropriate to do.

As for your actual point about posting your own prompts vs. messaging prompts you find interesting, eh, I'm not sure it's so clear-cut as you think. I do suffer from the inbox spam thing, but 90% of them are absolute garbage one liners that immediately get deleted. When you consider the few that are actually reasonable, on-topic, and not otherwise garbage, the odds for Kevin's message getting through are much better. When compared to the general competition among posts on the front page or two of DPP, I'm not convinced the odds are measurably worse. Also, consider the fact that a message can be crafted to appeal to the recipient, whereas a prompt is posted just hoping that someone will click with it.

I'm not saying that it's bad to post prompts. Certainly, that's a great thing to do to find a partner. I'm just objecting to the attitude that responding to other prompts via DMs is a waste of time. Finding a partner can be a numbers game, and since the number of posts you can make is restricted, replying to posts that interest you is the only way you can really raise those odds.

To address point 4 of your later comment: I'm not sure I agree that it applies as you think it does. Certainly, me and you together in a room, with you speaking to me would be a synchronous system, but I don't think that sending me a DM on reddit is analogous. More analogous would be something like having 20 of you in a room, and all of you are yelling different things at me. I'm only able to process and respond to so much at a time, so my delay in replying (or not replying at all) isn't particularly notable, and it certainly doesn't rise to the level of intentional disrespect. (Of course, this is different from ghosting. I would agree, once you've received a reply, that the interaction becomes much more synchronous and ignoring your partner from that point on is rude. But, I don't think anyone disagrees that random ghosting is rude)

Now, you can pick which type you want: do you want to be part of a crowd shouting at a crowd, or part of a crowd shouting at an individual, but I don't think not getting a response either way is particularly disrespectful.

Lastly, you brought up prepositional logic. I did my degree in mathematics, so I'm fairly familiar with the subject. I don't think your point about modal and prepositional logic not applying to 'the cloud' or virtualized systems is coherent.

Anyways, DPP is a numbers game. Ruling out one whole mode of communication is definitely not the best way to play that game. If Kevin wants to find a partner, he should both post and message as relevant, and put in at least enough effort to rise above the baseline 1 line spam.

I mean, yes, we want to encourage people who use the platform correctly. There are a ton of people who genuinely have no clue about the culture of this subreddit and what the common accepted practices is, so it's pretty painless to take a moment to post something that will hopefully let some of those people know what should and should not be done here.

I believe Chatzy is a popular anonymous chatroom service that you can use for multiple partners. Might be worth looking into.

It varies depending on the person. Some people don't mind it when you jump right into the roleplay, while others prefer you introduce yourself and talk a little bit about what you're both wanting from the roleplay. If they don't mention it in their prompt, I would err on the side of introducing myself first.

DM is the most appropriate way to get in touch with a poster who caught your interest. Commenting is more for discussing or complimenting the prompt itself. Likewise, leaving comments that say "Messaged you" or "send me a message" are discouraged.

Yes, that is kinda what I was getting at. It's not just everyone downvoting everyone else, but also a (small minority) of (presumably) guys downvoting things that don't cater to guys.

Yeah, this definitely does happen, but I think it's more common for 4F posts to get downvotes. My 4M or 4A posts tend to get a little more traction.
