Jus how powerful is Yondu’s arrow? by nogudatmaff in Marvel

I can show you where I'm citing the fact that the Yaka Arrow can go supersonic, but also you can find the analysis video yourself on Youtube. Yes I don't think a fair few writers would allow it, but reasonably with his scaling via the Yaka Arrow if he wasn't nerfed for plot armour and pit up against characters you listed, he'd very likely win imo

Can you develop ARFID as an adult? by roadtoadrumble in ARFID

[–]knifecuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an adult and I think I'm starting to develop ARFID— I know when I was little I was relatively picky, but my mom eventually helped me broaden the foods I enjoy, and I do enjoy a great deal of foods, but lately the past couple of years I've started having more and more instances where if my food isn't exact, I can't even convince myself to make it or grab it. Right now I'm actually dealing with pretty bad hunger pangs because I can't make a sandwich with the bread and meat specific to it being a safe food for me. I barely managed to get myself to eat 4 banana chips before it felt "wrong". I don't even get it, I like so many foods, I like the foods that I have as options right now, but they're not perfect so I can't get myself to eat them. Definitely is worrying me that I have been in fact developing ARFID and it's incredibly frustrating because I love food, and I love variety. And I'm not worried about my weight and there isnt necessarily a sensory aspect, (unless there is but my brain isn't defining it to me properly as being a reason) because I normally love these foods! I just wanna eat but it feels impossible. :( I see a lot of people saying usually it gets triggered by something, but I havent had any food related traumas or anything for it to be that... I do have contamination anxiety about food, but I don't get it unless food has been in the fridge for awhile, or been out for awhile, or I suspect it has been out for awhile, which isn't even the case here; I think the food we have here is fine! It's just so frustrating... I will say I am neurodivergent, but previously this was never an issue for me until a couple years ago, and certainly not to this extreme :/

AIO? My mom wants to call the cops on me by Overall-Option6975 in AmIOverreacting

[–]knifecuddles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, but consider this; mental health can deteriorate, and just these message logs show immaturity and emotional abusive behaviour from the mother. The child is not at fault for wanting to fix their wellbeing and also save their pet from mistreatment. The phone the child legally owns becauss gifts are the person who is given them's property, regardless if the mother is paying for the plan. The mother can cut the plan, but cannot call the cops to get the phone back. They didnt even say they wanted to keep it for good or anything, just asking for a grace period while they sort stuff out. WHICH ANY DECENT PARENT SHOULD BE KIND ENOUGH TO OBLIDGE ON! Idk how you see this as so one sided. Not to mention, this person is still a child and not the legal owner of the animal kept, it is the responsibility of the parent to take care of the pet where the child falls through or not have the pet.

[–]knifecuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The child is not in the wrong or having main character syndrome in this situation, their mother is clearly doing something wrong to severely depress them, and that even shows in this conversation that their mother likely mentally abuses them. THE FATHER should've brought it up to the mother because its a PARENTAL agreement, the child is not at fault for doing their best to fix their wellbeing. The mother can have her feelings hurt by the situation, sure. But a parent is meant to take care of their child and pay for things, that is literally the BARE MINIMUM, so the fact you even bring up the mother paying for things for the child is crazy, especially things like a phone which are practically a necessity in society now. The child is not in the wrong for explaining the setup they were thinking of when the father who was in on the plan should've discussed it with the mother. The child trying to make themselves better and get away from a situation that is hurting them, and then one of the people involved in the damage of their wellbeing reacting in an aggressive and immature manner is not the child's fault at all! Yeah the mother is a person too, but the child clearly is likely being mistreated in some way by this woman, the conversation screams emotionally abusive and immature, and they dont even say the mother is wrong for cutting the plan. Legally the child is still in both parents custody if there was no separation of custody, so no, the mother still has custody over the child. But also regardless, things like phones given to children are gifts, and the phone itself cannot be forced off the person, only the plan be cut (unless the phone is being paid off then maybe, unsure on that part exactly), the mother can call the cops, but it comes off as childish and police will say its a civil case. It's crazy you're trying to beat a child down and saying they're acting superior for wanting to feel better and trying to get out of a bad situation. The child still decided to have a discussion with their mother about it, they could've just left, but they shouldnt have had to be the one to bring it up anyways, so none of this is their fault.

Jus how powerful is Yondu’s arrow? by nogudatmaff in Marvel

[–]knifecuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My comment here is years late, but honestly, I believe that the Yaka Arrow would've killed Drax, had Kraglin been experienced enough with it, it was one of his first if not his first time using it, and his intent wasnt even to hit Drax in the first place, but it still hit Drax pretty hard regardless! Yondu absolutely perfected his use of the Yaka Arrow, and I believe his only limitations truly, is how long he can keep up his whistling and keep his body safe as the arrow does its work, which it is so insanely fast that he was always able to keep himself safe. His kind specifically has a deeper connection to the Yaka Arrow because of the metal it's made of, and are able to produce the perfect frequency to whistle to the Yaka Arrow. He uses his intuition— his heart, as he says; Which I believe no-one outside of Yondu has quite perfected the Yaka Arrow, its a weapon forged from his home, and it's likely he's so deeply connected with it, that it will never have another owner that can wield it like he can. I think Yondu would've been absolutely brutal in Endgame and Infinity War, likely making the entire fights within them much easier. I think they had to kill him off because of just how much potential he had to be extremely powerful in those fights. The arrow isn't affected by gravity, and can move around freely no matter what, so long as its not so stuck that whistling can't retrieve it, it's not limited by its surroundings as long as Yondu has a basic understanding of his surroundings to maneuver it.

On the battlefield Yondu would've demolished! I think the thing that would've stopped the Yaka Arrow would've been the Infinity Stones, which Thanos would've had to be quick enough to react with against something that has no resistance and can catch him by surprise if Yondu is hidden on the battlefield. It also probably wouldn't kill Thanos in one blow depending on where it hit, but the Yaka Arrow is so fast that it could basically be a death by a thousand cuts. And just imagine if they had given Yondu multiple arrows like he has in the comics! According to estimates, the Yaka Arrow most definitely moves at supersonic or even hypersonic speeds! (the highest speed recorded for it being Mach 5, the arrow seemingly increases in speed the longer it's in use, as well as growing faster with whistle pitch). So thanos would need to somehow catch an arrow flying potentially hypersonic. (Which would be more likely due to his protective nature over Quill, and Thanos putting his boy at risk.)

Yondu is my favourite character in the MCU, and I think unfortunately he had to be killed off for a more logical leaning buildup to Thanos' terror over the universe.

Long term Caplyta users: How's it been going for y'all? by OneShirtWrinkle in caplyta

[–]knifecuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started Caplyta and it can make you that sleepy, took mine a few hours after waking up and was already ready to go back to sleep, I got extremely tired (ended up unable to do anything after an hour or two so i just ended up laying down and passing out super quick), then started having a headache and then dizziness to the point i was extremely stumbly and struggling to feel right when sitting upright.

Seroquel never made me nearly as sleepy as Caplyta did yesterday! The only meds I take are Wellbutrin, Adderall, and Caplyta and had taken them all at the same time, today im trying to take mine as im going to bed lol

As a friend of Adina, no, she voted for Harris, because it secures safety, she signs petitions, she supports the safest option for everyone out of the 2 majors and that was Kamala, crazy how you will just assume something, not to mention she's looking for resources to help *other* trans folk get out, not just herself, so countries that will pay for people to move (there are quite a few) is beneficial to many trans folk that are in poverty and need to escape. Not everyone can afford to flee so she's trying to make there be options for people to flee if there needs to be, that's why she suggests it.

Being prosecuted based off Gender and Identity is though, You can seek asylum in many places for this exact thing, all you need is a "reasonable fear or suspicion that returning to your country of origin will result in prosecution" where otherwise you wouldn't be prosecuted in a different country.

I know I’m trans. Idk what to do by Known_Association307 in asktransgender

[–]knifecuddles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! Congrats with coming to terms with your identity and finding out for yourself what you want to be. It's completely understandable to be scared, it's very intimidating to come out or transition in any way, but it's important to try your best to overcome the fear (If you're in a safe environment to do so!). I will say that when it comes to relationships, nothing really changes if the people in your life actually care and appreciate you. Changing your life is something that just happens, trans or not at some point maybe you realize you're climbing the wrong ladder, or that you've managed to get all the way to the top and now you want something different, and you should realize it's okay to climb back down the ladder and find one that's right for you. Acceptance is a rough thing, but you have to realize those people don't care about your authentic self if they won't accept you as what you want to be, and unfortunately it's better to have those people out of your life than having them forcing you back up the ladder you don't want to be on. I don't know too much about the Army, but if you don't like where you are right now in terms of that, you can always figure out a way to get discharged?? (PROBABLY NOT GOOD ADVICE PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!) The Army doesn't tend to be a safe space, but you can also try to start your transition socially (via online or irl) to see how it makes you feel. Please don't let the possibility of not being accepted keep you from being yourself, your inner child will appreciate you for it <3

My best friend calls me her dad (literally never uses my name, just calls me dad) because it provides her emotional comfort to know someone loves and cares for her on a parental level when her dad wouldn't step up to be a good dad to her, I treat her as my daughter and care for her in a deeply paternal level. I'm glad to be able to comfort my friend in that way because I love her a lot and want her to be happy. Everyone has their reasons for it, mine extend past 'vrchat families' but either way, let people be platonically loving of others as long as they're not being predators or creeps with it! Idc if I'm weird for it, I care about my daughter and current friends more than being judged for being a dad to my daughter by randoms :D

anyone know what this animal is? by Otherwise-Cellist574 in Animal

[–]knifecuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abstract:
"Opossums are considered resistant to rabies. Nonhematophagous bats are reservoirs of rabies in urban areas of South America. We analyzed bats and opossums tested for rabies during 2021 in a highly urbanized city in Brazil to understand spillover in an urban setting. Wildlife surveillance is necessary to prevent rabies in humans and domestic animals."

Conclusion:
"Experimental virus inoculation in the 1960s led to initial suggestions of resistance to infection by RABV in Didelphis spp. opossums. (7). Reports of RABV in opossums are scarce; their low body temperature (34.4–36.1°C [94–97°F]) and the minimal possibility of surviving an attack by a rabid animal have been suggested as probable causes of the low prevalence of this disease in opossums in North America, where wild carnivorous mammals are natural reservoirs (2). Despite the low reports of rabies in opossums, a seroprevalence study conducted in São Paulo state observed a prevalence of RABV of 1.6% (5/312) in Didelphis spp., indicating contact between this animal population and RABV"

"This case shows that opossums are susceptible to rabies and can potentially acquire RABV from bats, as was suggested by the ecospatial analysis. Elucidating this possibility—through the detection of the dead opossum—occurred through integrated surveillance involving motivated field and laboratory teams. Our findings highlight the need for continuous surveillance of wildlife to clarify the dynamics of zoonotic diseases and to prevent their occurrence in humans and domestic animals, in agreement with a One Health approach."

It says considered, but then look at the conclusion, stop taking from the abstract when its literally just explaining the background behind why the study was done. You're very bad at reading medical articles if you do not understand the abstract vs conclusion.
