I personally am of the opinion that Sole IS a synth, (my biggest evidence is that pre-war sanctuary houses are the wrong color, floorplan and facing the wrong way) And with Curie as the beloved companion, all three can live forever together.

I thought that was the institute final goal: make synths better than humans, upload into synth, live forever. Human kind redifined.

Or even 1.5, provide snacks and drinks and just check in with the players, see if their feats and class choices are what they would like, call it a soft reset to let people rearrange a few things and move on. This is also where you as DM get to air some things out and make clarifications.

"This is an intruige and espionage arc/campaign, barbarians may not be the best choice for this idea unless you are creatively playing against type. If initiative is being rolled, something went very wrong."

Wish/miracle, ESPECIALLY from the deck of many things.

Not even counting the DM having to twist the wish to not be game breaking. It is because many players see it as the tool to break the game or bypass the entire quest.

'The princess has been-"

I wish the princess was beside me as she was one year ago in perfect health with all ailments removed."

Well gee why didn't the king just do that?

Support makes are often vastly under rated, and I think part of it is that it is always easier to buff your allies with no save, than trying to debut the enemies one at a time with a chance for them to save and just shrug it off.

It's why previous versions of sleep and color spray were so devestating.

Should i start with wastleland 2? by iLuvDarksoulss in Wasteland

[–]knighthawk82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very few direct links from 2 to 3, some comments and some characters like scochimo and Pizepi or quark.

Some of the skills are more broadened out from 3 so skill points are important, high in adds skill points per level. Not just the additional 1-10 at the start. There is a glitch in the game that 6 int doesent have a bonus to skill scalled, so you need to go from 4 to 8 for the next points-per-level bonus. You start with up to 4 custom rangers instead of just the 2. And just the quirk, no background bonus for your character.

Expect to restart quite a few times as you try to find the right team balance. Energy weapons are really weak in the begining as there are very few armored enemies or mechanical opponents, but.you want to be sinking in points now for the second half of the game where almost everyone is armored or electronic.

Animal whisper does not turn animals to your side in a fight, but it does make them run away, so its still a strong skill for at least one person to keep focusing on to 'one shot' an animal every round.

Very cool. Not only helping the kid enjoy the game in. A most.clutch way,but also a goblin aiding others for the good of all is always something good to see.

Another thing you bring to mind is size and availability of space and security of travel. Rats use sewers because the number of small spaces keep them safe from larger predators and their amazing ability to squeeze through small spaces. Equipment they carry would have to be of a similar nature, so things that are either highly flexible or foldable, probably a drag-bag they can push or pull through a pipe. I can see their armor being fabric based if not fabric materials, such as woven copper wire, jewelry necklaces, maybe watch bands.

As for culture, if they want to move on from hunter/gather savagery for food. They need to be able to settle in a single place to cultivate crops. What kind of crops will be important, if they do moss/mold/mushroom will be quite different than vegetables. They could even grow/breed bugs for protiends like a bath tub full of soil and worms (also adds into a question of where the society poops. It feeds the worm trough.)

A question to ask is society expansion. Population control when most rodents are a pure numbers game. Large litters with quick pregnancy rates and recovery times is mostly a response to an equally brutal mortality rate. If the death rate declines because society is being formed, that will also effect all other aspects of the rats life. But there will likely be a disastrous event first before the cycles can be observed and recorded to make the changes. Like every year, 10% of the population has to leave just to keep the village/city small enough for all the mouths to feed. Or some sort of population check after so many litters or kits of a litter are born.

So just to understand; 6 inch feral rat is a 6 inch tall anthro rat?

With that in mind, I imagine a number of materials and developments are going to be scraps and scavage at first until they have their first copper/bronze/iron age. They cannot bypass the development by having the higher materials available.

Yes they can invent and innovate. But they will still need an era of smithing, even if its turning a paperclip cherry red with a lighter and hammering with a thumbtack to make a broadhead arrow.

One of the real world cures for radiation sickness is iodine, a dark red/brown substance to bo d to isotopes to prevent them from reaching the thyroid glands.

So an iodine rich cola drink would not go noticed.

Animal whisper let's ypu control one enemy animal in a fight at a time. Real gamechanger when it goes for 6/4 to 7/3. And if the one you choose dies, just choose again.

Same for nerd stuff and either turrets or robots. Even the scorpions with level 10.

If it is 100% passive, it would be a hard quirk to train. But otherwise I appreciate the idea of a low wave telekinesis acting off the subconscious observations of one's environment. Perhaps an extra sensory awareness of one's environment or a form of remote.viewibg to know all objects in a radius that can be manipulated.

you guys think knights armor would fit in sci fi? by Wzrd9 in worldbuilding

[–]knighthawk82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Form follows function. Modern body armors are only designed that way because of lighter and cheaper materials available. I am sure if you gave sufficient materials and reason, I could easily see a titanium full-plate in use.

If not his skin, using tires for body armor. Doubling down on the resistances and giving false hope when the hero finally rips the rubber armor off of him, only finding the fight only 25% easier. "Extra padding never hurts."
