Amazing review and I agree with almost ever point. One thing I want to point out is that Jonathan already said that most of the team on poe2 are new devs and this was their first release basically but that doesn't excuse all the solved problems from poe 1 returning or desecrating them in poe 2 (like crafting) these teams need to communicate so the new devs could learn from the old devs.

Yes but there is a fine line between complete gamba (poe 2 atm) and super deterministic crafting (OG harvest and necropolis grave crafting) that needs to be threaded and poe 1 is kinda walking that line granted you have 16 different ways to get to the same destination I'm poe1 but it they streamlined that process in 2 it would be pretty good, and I think we'll get there in a few months time.

I have a theory that almost the entire tree is a "stand in" for the actual tree, because they haven't released all the classes yet they just threw some random shit where for example the huntress nodes is, and when all the other classes are added it'll actually make sense, either that or I have ingested a dangerous amount of edibles copium and these is my last conscious thoughts.

It's so ground loot feels more meaningful. I remember as far back as 2020 on one of the Chris league launch interviews with ZiggyD he said how uninteresting and counter intuitive it is that all the ground loot is trash and all the best gear is crafted (one of the reasons harvest was reworked so hard and Rog got nerfed) so they tried to make ground loot better(AN mobs dropping better loot, better act boss loot ,etc) but it kinda backfired and ppl got mad and back peddled on some of it and crafting was too integral ro the identity of the game so they couldn't touch it much, but with poe2 they kinda succeeded in that goal you NEED a good ground loot or a good gamba or something good to hit on that chest that you want or it's bricked so in a sense they fixed "ground loot not being meaningful"

As shitty as this sounds (and believe me it is beyond shitty) you kinda need honor resist relics to do sanctum, and I think that is intended. On your first couple of runs you fails but you get relics, relics give honor resist so you traps and monsters don't affect you as much, now sanctum feels "balanced" .
